How Often Do You Use the Showers at Your Gym?

I used to work out at a gym that had a fairly inexpensive monthly fee. When I walked into the bathroom, I knew why. The showers were disgusting, but it didn't matter because I was close to home and would just leave and shower in my own bathroom.

Now I belong to a beautiful gym, and the bathroom is actually really nice, so I don't mind washing up and getting ready there. What about you?

Never - I caught plantars warts from a hotel shower that took 3 years with many painful treatments (read: freezing, blistering ointment and finally surgery) to remove. Not risking it ever again thankyouverymuch.

i'm just wayyy too lazy to bring a towel/flip flops/other supplies to the gym, i'm annoyed enough by the fact it's winter and i have to deal with bringing in a sweatshirt, hahah.

@stacey14 I bet those women already battling a super strain of a yeast infection. *shudders* I wear flip flops every time I shower, be it at the gym, motels, dorms, etc. It's a habit left over from my college days.

I happened to see this happen this morning (but not for the first time) and thought it worth sharing since we're talking about gym showers..... I've seen several women SITTING on the floor in the showers. SITTING with their legs stretched out flat on the tile on the floor in the showers just scrubbing away. I DO NOT understand how someone can do this!?

i never shower in public places, where i know everyone doesn't have the same standard of hygiene i do. just the other day i saw a woman in the gym walk from the toilets to the shower barefoot. i know she was about to take a shower but it's still a public toilet! i was just disgusted and it confirmed my decision to never shower at the gym. and the gym isn't too far from my house anyway, so i just shower at home.

If I workout in the morning before work I shower, there's no way I'm turning up to work after a workout and not showering, that's just gross! If it's in the evening I go home to shower. I wash my hair at home, I have afro hair which I straighten and it's a HASSLE and time consuming to do my hair at the gym.

Only if I am going out afterwards, or going to work. Sot not very often. They're not spectacularly great, but not too bad.

My gym has showers but I have a serious issue with bathrooms...I prefer to use my own shower and toilet and I'm not the first person you'd call to go on a camping trip....I never ever use the bathrooms for any reason at the gym.

My gym has showers, but I never really use them. I always just shower at home.

I no longer belong to the gym, but when I did, I always showered with sport flip flops (those with the grips at the bottom to prevent from slipping).

I'm thankful my gym is 2 minutes from my house so I can shower at home. I don't want to shower in flip flops, and I don't want to schlep a ton of products around

When I swam constantly and did water aerobics I would rinse off after, mostly. The showers weren't too bad but they were small, almost always filled and the water temperature was never aligned. :\ I just prefer to take my stinky self home and shower there.

When I swim, so I can get the chlorine out of my hair. Or if it's before work, so I don't have to go home.

Always wear flip flops! I see people every day going into the gym showers bare foot! That's asking for it. I usually shower in the gym about twice a week. I go during my lunch break and I live for away from gym and work, so it's my only option. I don't mind though. I spent a whole year taking showers like that back in college living in the dorm. No big deal. Plus my gym provides towels, which is very nice to not have to lug a towel to & from work & gym.

Now that Equinox has Kiehl's products in the showers....my showers have become almost decadent!! I love showering at the gym!!! :) Love Equinox!

It seems like such a hassle to have to bring a double of everything (skincare, shower gel, lotion, makeup) and I'm sure that once in a while i would forget something important, like my towel or something, and be in a jam. I'd much rather drive my stinky self home to shower and not worry about it.

I don't belong to a gym anymore, but when I did and I worked out in the a.m. I used the showers every day. The showers were actually really nice and well kept at my gym. I still wear flip flops even so, though!
