I've been reevaluating my budget these days and it's no surprise that my fitness and health habits can be pretty costly. In an effort to save cash but still be able to keep myself motivated I've been on the hunt for cute, and cheap, workout clothes. A friend of mine was telling me that she's gotten a few workout clothes from Walmart, so I did a little investigating. I am loving the Danskin Now knit boot-cut pants ($10) and women's piped scooped tank ($6). Both come in a cute variety of colors and at $16 for the set, you're definitely not blowing the budget, even if you get a few pairs.

Dries Van Noten
I just bought the most comfortable pair of sweat pants from H&M for dancing. They cost a fraction of what "specialized" dance pants usually do and look great. I am really surprised, actually, because I've recently decided not to buy anything else than basic tees at H&M because of the poor quality of their clothing.
1Thanks for posting this budget friendly 'Get You Butt in Gear'..I also snag cheap workout gear at Target and Old Navy...both stores clearance things very low and all three stores mentioned have incredible online clearances.
You know though if you want to spend a little more scratch on guaranteed quality, Land's End (I know, it's not really hip) has a great activewear section with really updated cool styles and moisture wicking fabrics with antibacterial qualities. Just sayin'.
I think their
yoga pants are around 30 which isn't horrific but they last forever. My Old Navy pants always tear up fast, but the Danskin like Fit mentioned, those last quite a while and wash well.
2WHOA WHOA WHOA! Wait a minute!!! Why do you think those clothes are so cheap?? Because they are made in sweatshops by little 6 year old Indonesian/Chinese/Mexican fingers!! Do you really want to support such a thing? It's horrid!! The people who make those clothes for just pennies a day are often forced to live in dorms with no hot water or heat and cramped, filthy conditions. Why not get your workout clothes at a secondhand store like the Salvation Army? You are just going to sweat in them anyways, and if it makes you squeamish, wash them before you wear them!
3that's pretty cool. i'm a sucker for finding my brands at lower cost places - and this is just another example of smart business - and well..i'm guessing that danskin has seen a reduction in their revenue so they need another outlet, and who better than walmart right?
4Thanks for posting this - those pants look really cute! I agree that Target is also a good place to get gear, especially on sale. I got the cutest running there last month and it was only $4.98!
5I
6Even though I love a good deal, I will not shop at Walmart.
7Thanks for the post, Fit...I'm always looking for a good deal on workout clothes. I may have to pick up some of those pants...they look super comfy.
8I noticed that the other day, in fact there is a cute hoodie there in all sorts of colors
9Danskin has BEEN at Walmart, I used to work there. GRRRR....
10i love a bargin
11I get workout gear (among other things
) at WalMart a lot..they have reallly good
Danskin sports bras too!!!
12These are great deals, I would definitely check them out if there were a Walmart nearby. Like others, we've had good luck finding inexpensive but very good quality athletic clothing at Target and Old Navy.
13Thanks! FYI, they have a new spring line out that I was reviewing online. I didn't think to look here for a review (even though I read this regularly) and so you came up with your review when I googled it. They have some really cute new options.
