Get Motivated: Set One Smaller Goal

If your main goal of exercising is to get healthy overall then that is great. The problem is that it can be hard to measure "overall health," and it can be frustrating if you are plugging ahead and have no proof for all your hard work. Instead, while on your way to optimal health, pick a goal or two that is attainable and measurable. Choose something simple such as being able to run 10 minutes without stopping, lifting heavier weights, or being able to touch your toes, and focus on getting it done. Once you accomplish your goal, reward yourself and start progress toward another small specific goal. Doing so can keep you motivated in your endeavors, and would even work well in taking you through a dreaded plateau.

I would love to hear your new, specific goal. Share it in the comments section below.
