I have a soft spot (no pun intended) for soft, creamy desserts. Summertime weather just screams soft serve ice cream in a cone with rainbow sprinkles, and when I tried gelato for the first time, I fell in love with that too. So I want to know...

I'm completely shocked by the Fat difference!
I chose the incorrect one.
Wow, I am surprised. I was certain gelato would have more fat because it tastes more rich than soft serve imho.
Nooooooooooooooo, soft serve I thought you loved me! T__T
thank goodness I like Gelato better!! Yummy!
Where can I get a half aqua, half lavender soft serve cone? So pretty
Really it depends on where you buying either. For example, most soft serve in fast food joints (like McDonalds) is low fat. The strawberry sundae at McDonald's only has 6g of fat as well. And if you've had that sundae - it's more than 1/2 cup and still only has 260 calories - a great choice if you need a quick fix.
Man, I got it wrong
I am surprised especially since gelato is so much tastier
WOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! got it right!
fitsugar, how bout sugar free yogurt? like the strawberry soft serve kind you get from Marble Slab? or pinkberry.
I got it right too! But the difference still surprises me. I never would have thought that soft serve would be up that high.
I also wonder if the flavors make any difference at all. Like a chocolate gelato vs. a vanilla soft serve.
soft serve is yummy. forget health ode to heart problems woo hoo!!!! lol kidding
Yeah it makes sense.
I wish I could get gelato here. The last time I had it was seven years ago when I was in the south of France. Mmm...lavendar and rose flavored gelato, sounds gross, but it was awesome.
i live in L.A and totally fell in love with this non-fat frozen yogurt store call cefiore, i'm addicted to it!
Somehow it told me I was incorrect even though I chose correctly, so the poll might be skewed. If you live in Houston, Dolce and Freddo is the BEST for gelato.
Yay, I got it right!
i can eat gelato alllllll daaaay...ok, maybe not hehehe...but that's how much i luv it!
Oh god, I love gelato. Esp nutella gelato...Yum
I tried Gelato in Italy and didn't like it - I felt like I was swallowing sugar. Everyone else loved it. Maybe I just tried it in a bad spot?
I think you mentioned once that some things that are "lowfat" make up for it by adding more sugar. That would seem the case here. . . .
gelato is soo much better than frozen processed sugar otherwise known as soft serve ice cream..
mmmmmmmmm.... can't wait to go out and get some more
The soft ice cream looks good
Wow! I was surprised at the results. I always thought gelato was way more decadent and fattening, which is why I am fixated on the relatively healthy, mostly-fruit sorbet at Whole Foods (pear! yay!).
