Online progress tracking tools are great for keeping you motivated, and for holding you accountable if your healthy habits happen to take a nosedive. With the holidays just around the corner, many of us will be on the road visiting friends and family, making it increasingly difficult to keep up with our fitness routines. So we've rounded up five fitness tracking websites to help keep you on track — and they're all free!

  • MyFitnessPal: MyFitnessPal is a health and fitness community that offers easy-to-use tools to keep track of your nutritional intake and exercise levels. No need to be tied to your computer to use this website, MyFitnessPal offers great apps for the iPad, and iPhone too.
  • Diet.com: Avoid splurges and workout plateaus with Diet.com's multiple tracking tools. After signing up, you can monitor your diet and nutrition plan, fitness plan, and overall progress. With over 90,000+ food/menu items in its database, you can get an accurate reading of the total calories and fat you're consuming on a daily basis. And if you're out eating at a restaurant, all you need to do is text DIET1 (34381) with the name of the restaurant (needs to be a popular chain restaurant) and the food you're thinking of ordering, to receive a text back with all of the nutrition info.
