The mister and I were supposed to have a gym date tonight, but he's last-minute flaking on me and I am seriously bummin' over it. Family emergency? Last-minute work project? Home in bed with the flu? No, no, and, no! Apparently, it's Lost Day. If you are like me and have no idea what that means, tonight begins the final season of the ABC show Lost. And trust me, the DVR is not an option.
I'm not getting much sympathy from the folks around me either. For one, Buzz thinks that "Lost is the most important thing happening today," a sentiment that seems to be echoed everywhere I go. I've been invited to watch it with him, but I know better. If I talk, breathe, or chew too loudly I will be sent to another room of the house. I also just don't get it, either — the numbers, the smoke monster, or where Claire went and if she's coming back. What I really want to know is if Agent Cooper will ever escape the Black Lodge, and why the heck does Nadine wear an eye patch?
Obviously, tonight is a big night for Losties, but since I'm not in this group, it all seems a little silly to me. In an attempt to spend some QT with my man, I'm debating skipping the gym tonight but I'm still not sure. Has anything like this ever happened to you — or are you also counting down the minutes until Lost ties up its loose ends?

Nine West
Nice Twin Peaks reference, Fit!
1I'm DVRing it even though I haven't seen a full season, so it's there when I'm ready to catch up. I'm hoping to start season 1 this weekend. While everyone is at home watching it live, I'll be at the gym.
Your situation used to have to me all the time during Monday Night Football.
2haha i'm putting off everything for tonight, its as if the whole world is gonna freeze around me! every single frame in this show basically has a clue to the revelation so i totally understand the no talking, chewing, breathing request!
3Yeah, I'll be watching. It's just one day after all. The gym will still be there tomorrow. If you don't care though, why not just go?
4LOL love the Twin Peaks slip in there!
I am a huge lost fan and will be watching tonight. I'll also be doing my at home workout.
5Ummm.... I am going to the gym and watching it there. Killing two birds with one stone. I am so excited and sad that this is the last season. Shhh... don't talk to me while I am watching it!
6Went to the gym already today, so I'm all set to watch.
Though I did skip dinner
with friends and ate in my dorm room so I could get other things done before the start of the show.
7I'm not a Lost fan, so I say leave the hubby for one night and head to the gym!
8i am a lostie, so no calling/texting/emailing/chatting during any of it; you turn around, you might miss something. but i did Stairmaster through critical past episodes before this last season, and lost some extra pounds as well.
9I'd make my boy record it. Then again I don't have much sympathy for Losties, I haven't watched the series since they killed off Charlie.
10Regardless I wouldn't let TV get in the way of a date (gym or no), but I don't watch a lot of TV...
Ok I think I would consider postponing my wedding if it were on the series finale/premiere of Lost.
Last year I went on vacation and it just so happened we left on the day of the Lost Finale - most miserable flight ever and I spent my entire time trying to look up a way to stream it overseas but failed. when I got home, first thing after waking up I watched Lost.
so Im with him.
