I think we all think that beef is higher in iron than it truly is. A 2.5 ounce serving only contains 2.4 milligrams. The iron is heme iron which the body does absorb more easily than plants high in non-heme iron.
When you do eat beef, go grass fed. Grass fed beef is higher in beta carotene, vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids than meat produced from cattle raised by conventional ranching techniques.
