My workout: I like workouts that are outdoors and that have an end goal; one of my favorite sports to play is tennis. It's a full-body workout that you can play with friends! Hiking is also a lot of fun. Especially in LA, there are so many different trails with amazing panoramic views of the beach, the city, and (believe it or not) greens!
At the same time, I enjoy numbers and seeing proof that my workouts are paying off so using machines at the gym is a must. I usually do a 28-minute weight loss regiment on the elliptical followed by a quick ab routine (which can also be done at the comfort of my room).
How I fit it in: Where I go to school, the standard course load is four classes at four units each. That gives me a couple of extra units to play around with. Last Spring, I signed up for a tennis course. It got me up early, helped me improve on a sport that I love, and made me feel so refreshed and productive. Occasionally I would even hit the gym afterwards to get some cardio in.
I'm glad USC is such a bike-friendly campus because it means that even on days when I have little motivation to work out, I get in a small workout cruising around buildings between classes.
