A rather interesting article has been floating around saying that scientists have found that fidgeters, yes they're talking about you miss-constant-pencil-tapper, are more likely to be thin than their less annoying fidgety counterparts. This all comes after they found a gene that they say accounts for the propensity to shuffle and shift. This constant movement in turn means spending energy that you didn't even know you were spending.
So I am curious about you guys -- Which category do you fall into?

I fidget all the time....but I am a very hyper, high strung person to begin with. But, I have to work very hard to stay thin! Maybe all the fidgeting is helping!
1i heard this rumour yesterday and was coming to ask u about it
sounds kinda weird
jew maybe true if u think about it!
2ha ha. this reminds me of the main character in 'confessions of a shopaholic.' she decided she would just fidget instead of joining a gym. saves money and is more efficient! lol
3i come from a family of fidgeters and we are skinny people...i wonder if there is something to that.
4i shake my leg all the time n it annoys people sometimes but i don't even realize i'm doing it. i wouldn't say i am thin but i am not fat. it helps burn calories so it does help i think
5I'm a big time fidgeter and am about average. There's way too many things to take into account with weight. I don't think this in any way makes you more thin.
6I think fidgeters may be skinnier, but i don't think they're more skinny.
My sister used to bounce her leg around a lot when she was younger (and skinnier), but she still does it and she has gained weight. It might make a difference in your weight, but not as much as having a baby and such...
7I fidget constantly....and I am very overweight...,.theory debunked cause i said so haha
8My man is a total fidgeter and he has really skinny legs, but a belly too. so i am not sure about the science behind this
9I've heard about this study before; I don't know what to think about it. I'm not a naturally fidgety person, but maybe I should start wiggling around in my computer chair. =)
10Super fidgety, hate standing still. I am. I'm pretty thin, and I have heard something like tapping your foot a lot during the day can burn up to 800 calories. So I believe it.
11I've heard about it...I *try* to figet!
12i totally believe this, i fidget all of the time and i really think it has something to do with the fact that i am thin!...although, you could also call it anxiety, which isnt very fun!
13I think this is rather ridiculous.
14i think fidgeting is relatively insignificant in terms of burning calories...
15I fidget constantly and I'm light. Too light actually, but I think it's impossible for me to gain weight.
16Some of the thinnest people I know are those that can never sit still. I think the fidgeting helps burn off a few extra calories over the day, but I also think it indicates a generally higher level of activity - the sort of people that might get home and go out for a run just to expend energy, or get up and dance madly to songs.
17I don't think fidgeting itself makes you thin, but rather that people who are already thin, specifically those who are "naturally" thin, have the urge to move all the time which keeps them in their slender state.
My younger brother is the most fidgety person I know-he used to rock in the couch or chairs and drove my parents nuts. He did it so much that the springs wore out through the back. It takes a lot of energy for him to be so high strung!
