Fascia
Definition: Fascia
Fascia is a strong connective tissue and it permeates the body. It has many functions, including enveloping and isolating the muscles of the body, providing structural support and protection. When you remove the skin from a chicken breast, the thin filmy layer covering the flesh is fascia. Although it is thin, it is fibruous, but is avascular. Meaning it has no direct blood supply.
