We've created a refreshing snack featuring some of our favorite tropical fruits, many with healthful digestive properties, that your taste buds (and your waist) will love. The weather is warming up and that means it's time for my favorite snack, smoothies. This is my latest creation, using coconut water. Not only will your taste buds love the tropical flavors but under 350 calories, your body will love it too. So let's start blending. Here's what you'll need: 8 ounces of coconut water, 1/2 C. frozen pineapple, cubed, 1/2 C. frozen mango cubes, 1/2 C. fresh papaya cubed, one fresh banana peeled, 1 tablespoon ground flax seed. I like to add in the liquid first so today we're going to do coconut water. Going to add the liquid first so the fruit doesn't stick to the bottom of the blender. Now, coconut water is helpful for so many reasons, it's high in potassium, actually has more potassium than whole banana. And it's full of electrolytes, tons of nutrients, and it's really low in calories too. Just measuring out here eight ounces. So you're getting all the added nutrients and the extra flavor delicious. Perfect. Okay, now you're adding your fruit, you've got your pineapple cubes frozen, so this will be your cold. No need to add ice. And pineapple is great, it has a lot of bromaline, which is an anti-inflammatory vitamin C, nutrients, digestive enzymes as well, you've got your mango, high in beta carotene, and papaya which is full of digestive enzymes Also very high in vitamin C. And then add in one whole banana, the big one, for your potassium here well. And it's great for sore muscles, filling your body with delicious nutrients with a very low calorie count. Now add your ground flax seed. Now these are high in fatty acids, so the Omega-3's that are so helpful for you. High in dietary fiber as well. Now I like to use ground flax seed. This is a great way to get the nutrients to absorb in your intestines. If the whole flax seed goes through you might not get the full benefit and this will also add a delicious nutty rich flavor. Perfect. Now let's blend and viola you've got yourself a smoothie The pineapple comes through, the mango, the papaya. I'm getting my digestive enzymes, so that can reduce bloat. So I can definitely enjoy this poolside that's for sure. That is creamy, and just a hint of coconut, which is perfect. So tell us what you think in the comments.
