It's a breath of fresh air when gorgeous celebrities admit they have to work at looking so hot, and Beyonce is one of these (not single anymore) ladies who is up front about what it takes to achieve her ideal shape. The singer/actress is showing off her curves and glowing skin on the June cover of Self and told the magazine, "I can't eat what I want, and I can't not go to the gym."
Beyonce is mostly focused on cardio these days, running up to six miles a day when she hasn't been through a long day of rehearsals. She's not afraid of a little strength training and said, "I'll put on a song that I really like and do [biceps curls with] five-pound weights [for] the whole song and just try to burn out."
A rigorous fitness routine and disciplined diet require a lot of motivation; find out how Beyonce gets inspired when you read more.
Beyonce keeps a painting of an Oscar right next to her treadmill as a visual reminder of her ultimate goal. She uses other little tricks, like thinking about her costumes needing to fit, but the superstar is sure true motivation comes from within. Here's what she told Self:
The truth is, it's a lot of sacrifice. It's more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself. It doesn't matter what trainer you have. And it doesn't matter what program you're on. You have to be healthy and make the right choices.

Not a huge fan of her but she's completely right in this case.
1LOVE her
2As much as I admire Beyonce, I don't think she sets a good example for health and fitness. Her weight yo-yo's up and down. She gets in shape for her tour, but when she's off-tour, she lets herself go (have you seen candid pictures of her during this period? She appears overweight and under-exercised. She looks like another woman.)
Again, I do like Beyonce, but when it comes to health and fitness, I have reservations about her outlook. JMHO.
3Love her- I also so respect her honesty about the work she needs to put and the sacrifice it is.
4She is also very right about ones mental strength. Getting to where you want to be physically is such a mental game.
I admire her because she doesn't seem to be one of those people just blessed with good genes, that are naturally thin. She has to work very hard to mantain a slim figure, and that takes a lot of will power and discipline. Definitely an example to follow!
5i agree, even though i'm not a fan of either her or reaching fitness goals. but she sure knows how to be an achiever
6hm, not someone I would be taking workout or health advice some. she just grates on my nerves and I agree, she yo-yos a Lot
7She looks amazing
