Living in the Northeast, I don't let a little snow get between me and my runs, but a lot of snow? Now that's a different story. Aside from the thick powder making it frustratingly tough to run in with just waterproof sneakers, the slippery surface makes it more likely to fall. That's why I have my eyes on a pair of Atlas running snowshoes ($210). The lightweight aluminum toe and heel crampons provide perfect traction, and the spring-loaded suspension allows the crampon to penetrate the snow deeper, giving you that extra push with each step. Pair them with a warm, waterproof sneak, and you're ready to hit the snowy trails.
