If you're looking for a protein-filled snack that's easy to take on a hike, a bike, or a road trip, then jerky is for you. My new fave is Krave Jerky (between $6 and $7 per 3.25-ounce bag). Made without nitrates, hormones, and artificial flavors, this is not your grandpa's jerky.
Krave's jerky is minimally processed, soft to chew, and big on flavor. Try pork teriyaki, which is pleasantly sweet (and only 70 calories per one-ounce serving), or test my other fave, sweet beef chipotle — it has a nice, spicy kick and only 10 calories more per serving. Other flavors that might pique your taste buds are basil citrus, made with turkey, or curry beef.
