Banning Obese People From Adopting, a Good Idea?

I recently told you about new restrictions China has put in place barring obese couples from adopting children from their country. What do you think?

I mean, I notices Yao talking about open arms but COME ON! I think The Hulkster is too old to adopt a child from China anyways, the age limit is 50 LOL!

Absolutely nothing, DRC. I noticed that LOTS of Ms. Rivers' posts are just words put together around the name of a celebrity that has very little to nothin to do with the actual posts or comments. Unless Hulk Hogan wants to adopt a Chinese child, and I just haven't heard about it yet. ;)

Oh man I'm so outraged at this. I posted a blog last night about it too. I just think that obesity sometimes has nothing to do with food, furthermore, how can they possibly differentiate between that?

I think it's fine - it's in genes. If they want to welcome chinese children with open arms it's perfectly fine....eventhough their arms are twice as big as normal arms.

i think jgirly has a great point! just because you are obese does NOT mean you are not capable of being a fabulous parent. taking away someonoe's right to adopt for that reason is so absurd.

I would have to think that even entertaining the thought of taking away a womans right to bear/adopt children based solely on the their weight is wacko. My mother is obese. She has been forever, despite her healthy eating habits. An orphan (or any child for that matter) would be lucky to have her as a parent.

Well, speaking as conservative i thought it sounds like a pretty whacko idea. adopted children to obese couples do not have the bad genetics that help contribute to obesity.I'm all in. Just remember to ban anorexics also as the poor child would grow up to hate themselves and be unhealthily thin. and drinkers cause their children could grow up to be alcoholics...etc.
