"Take Me Out to the Ballgame" namechecks peanuts, and Cracker Jacks, but the song doesn't mention the calorie or fat content of these tasty treats. Even if you aren't a hardcore baseball fan, chances are you might find yourself in a stadium this Summer, noshing on the favorite foods of America's favorite pastime.
To help you make smart choices, I've consulted the always-helpful CalorieKing and put together a breakdown of popular ballpark eats, including hot dogs, chili fries, and the aforementioned peanuts and Cracker Jacks. Some of the information certainly surprised me, so to see how they all compare, read more.

Wow, I had no idea those unassuming nachos were so high in calories! And I'll continue to avoid the soft pretzels, chili fries, and malts. If you want something not deadly to snack on, peanuts and even Cracker Jacks aren't a bad choice. What's your favorite ballpark treat?

Topshop
After reading that.. peanuts, cracker jacks & beer!
1Mangoes with cayenne and lime. Sucks that I have to take a plane to get them at the ballpark...
2Me too Fit, I had no idea nachos had so many calories.
Damn...that pic is making me hungry.
3i don't like most of those foods anyway... i'll stick to beer. hehe
4Mmmmm does cotton candy count? lol
5i like cotton candy, too. Mmmmmmm.
6Garlic fries!
7I never eat food at ballparks because it's so dang expensive. Beer is like $6 each.
8Cheese steaks! I'm from Philadelphia so that's a ballpark must. You guys don't have that listed on hear but I don't even want to know the calories. It's the one thing I can't stay away from. I usually eat extremely healthy.
9Sadly, that makes me really hungry. I need some healthier versions of all these foods. Mangoes with cayenne and lime gabiushka? That sounds amazing.
10Check your ballpark's policy about outside food. We take our own snacks & bottled water (unopened) into our ballpark & save both cash & calories. If I don't have something to munch on, I find it way too hard to resist those nachos.
11I think that when you're comparing calories, such as this, it would make more sense to go for equal sizes in what you're comparing, rather than serving size - which may differ from product to product.
12I know the nachos are high calorie and made with that nasty Rico Cheese sauce, yet when I see someone enjoying them... I must. have. them. Lactose, food dye, salt, preservatives, and all!
13Absolutely nothing on that list sounds remotely appetizing to me! If I were forced to have one of them, it would be the pepperoni pizza, and I'd take off the pepperoni and then soak up the grease with a ton of napkins! Now put ice cream on that list and it would be an entirely different story.
14I knew Nachos would be high but good grief. I think I'll think twice before I choose those again at a ballgame.
15I went to a Cardinals game with dad on Father's day and there was absolutely nothing that seemed too appealing. Fortunately I had eaten beforehand (salad, grilled chicken, mixed veggies, annnnd carrot cake from a local St Louis restaurant =)) so I just got two bottles of water. I hated to spend 10 bucks on two bottles of h2o, but it was frickin' toasty outside.
16mmmmm I want some nachos, love nachos
