I love running outside but when it's chilly, those first 10 minutes warming up can be brutal before your blood really gets pumping.

Next time, try starting your workout indoors before heading outside. Jog in place or do some light jumping jacks to get your heart rate up, your blood circulating, and oxygen to your muscles. Then take it outside. Once you get out, start by walking slowly and then increase your speed until you reach your desired intensity.

I usually run out doors 4-5 times per week however since it's gotten so cold I've taken a break from it. It was -4 out this morning and I just couldn't bring myself to go through that chill. I will resume my workout in about a month when the weather is nicer!
1Good advice but not always possible when you're snowshoeing or something like that and there's no nordic center around.
2Great tip. I love it.
