"Yesterday I made this tasty breakfast by mixing plain oatmeal, cinnamon, blackberries, sliced banana and toasted almonds, and it was fabulous — I felt great after eating it, so I need more ideas. What are other good power breakfasts?"
In the Winter I'm a two eggs scrambled, whole wheat toast, and tangerine kind of girl. I know you guys have your own go-to power breakfasts, so share them in the comments section below.

Yesterday I made an awesome breakie!
1I put forzen mixed berries into a bowl and warmwed them up in the microwave, then added some granola, then some plain low-fat yogurt, then some sliced up banana and it was SO YUMMY!
And it kept me full for a long time!
Egg whites, Vegetarian Sausage and a Clementine
or
Egg white omelette with mushrooms, red bell peppers and onion
Making steel cut oats in the crockpot with fresh or dried fruit is also so appealing in the winter
2Two hard boiled eggs and a piece of fruit.
3Those Oddwalla or Naked brand juices! I lovee fruit in the morning but usually don't have time, so they cover the bases.
4I have 4 egg whites with a litle sprinkle of cheddar and a smoothie with banana, yogurt, milk and berries. And a multi and an iron pill. Sometimes Ill eat light whole wheat toast with sugar free marmalade. I really like brekkie.
5Shredded apples mixed with oatmeal and cinnamon along with a poached egg.
Whole wheat toaster waffles with all-natural crunchy peanut butter...that's a good one. *Yum*
6i'm all about steel cut oats, add in flax seed, and whatever fruit you want. I also make a goood breakfast burrito, whole wheat torilla, egg whites, turkey ham, bell peppers, salsa. YUM
71) Non-fat vanilla yogurt, heaping amount of fresh berries of your choice and granola mixed together and either a large orange or a slice of wheat toast with organic peanut butter. Filling and delish!
2) Two egg whites and one yolk with whatever veggies you have on hand.
3) One half whole wheat bagel with neufchatel cheese and two slices of tomato plus large piece of fruit.
8I'm addicted to cereal, so I typically have cereal every morning.
I'll mix a cup of Kashi Protein cereal with a cup of Special K red Berries and some fat free milk.
Its glorious.
9A mug parfait with yogurt, honey, then Kashi Heart to Heart cereal, more yogurt, and a layer of granola. Soooo good! Also, today I had two slices of whole wheat light bread with honey and cottage cheese spread on them. And of course tea! I mix green and spearmint tea into one cup, and it really creates a great, mellow taste.
10
coffee. and special k bar. and a sandwich for lunch, and soup for dinner. i really suck at
cooking
im doing the toast thing tomorrow! jajaj see if that works for me
112 egg whites, fresh basil and parmesean cheese, scrambled. Slice of Whole wheat toast, and banana
12A cup or so of berries, two veggie sausages, a glass of OJ, two slices of light wheat toast with Smart Balance and a mug of coffee. Heaven!!
13best brekkie ever:
141 cup kashi go lean crunch (high in protein=i stay full til lunch)
fruit (apple, banana etc)
1 cup soy milk (mmmm)
and coffee, of course!
These are my usual:
1 hard boiled egg, 2 whole wheat waffles topped with berries and a glass of light n' healthy tropicana OJ.
or
A bowl of hot oatmeal with 1 chopped whole apple, walnuts, cinnamon, nutmeg and flaxseeds.
15See guys, I'm not ALL about nachos!
16Two slices of whole wheat bread topped with fresh homemade hummus. I put thick toppings of hummus, sprinkled with ground paprika, cumin, and turmeric on top. A small pot of french-pressed coffee latte. Yummmmmmy.
17kashi cinnamin harvest/heart to heart or quaker oat bran cold cereal with sliced banana and milk.
steel cut oats with raisins and almonds.
instant oatmeal with yogurt on top. (sounds crazy, but delicious.)
2 hard boiled eggs with fruit and toast.
or: cottage cheese with fruit.
18Mine is almost identical to ashcwebb...
19Blueberry's, Strawberry's, and chopped Banana mixed with vanilla yogurt and topped off with granola and a few almonds. I love this and I try to vary my breakfasts but I always seem to come back to this one.
Lately I've been goin for black bean, broccoli, cauli, tomatoes and onion omelette (1 egg) with 1oz pepperjack cheese, with 1 crumbled slice o' bacon (real bacon!!) on 2 slices of the brownberry double fiber toast. Keeps me full for eons. And YUM!
20My favorite is an egg-white omelette made with 3 egg whites, chopped mushrooms and peppers and a lowfat yogurt. This and a cup of good green tea will keep you going all morning.
21I LOVE Dannon Light & Fit Smoothie yogurts...strawberry and banana is my fav...70 calories and keeps me full!
22Greek yogurt with honey or Greek yogurt with granola with dried cranberries. And a half cup (4 oz) of orange juice.
23Homemade vegan biscuit with a vegan "sausage" and a glass of fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.
24I'm a fan of thinking outside the breakfast box. Often, I'll eat dinner leftovers. Or a veggie sandwich, or a Lean Cuisine...sometimes even a salad, because it's easiest. Am I the only one that does this?
25ideally I'd have an egg n grilled sweet potatos.. haha.. weird but it works - great energy throughout the day. I did the whole cereal thing before and I'd crash before 10 am. I also did the fruit on the go and same thing - crash. So protein and good carbs does the trick for me.
26Used to be Irish Oatmeal with unsweetened applesauce and slivered almonds.
Now sugar-free yogurt with vanilla and dried cherry granola and protein powder mixed in or a protein-powder, frozen fruit smoothie made with water.
27Here is my most favorite easy breakfast! Fiber one cereal topped with chopped walnuts, chopped apple, cinnamon, and vanilla soy milk.
28To eggs, hardboiled, then mashed up with a bit of butter, salt and pepper. It's easy cause you can cook it while you get ready, it tastese delish, and is quick. And, it's pure protein...it lasts a while considering.
29Homemade sausage sandwiches: 1 English muffin (Thomas' light multi-grain), 1 veggie sausage patty, 1 slice 2% American cheese.
30Western Bagel with reduced-fat cream cheese.
Frozen berries heated in the microwave and poured over whole-wheat waffles.
Blueberry spelt muffins (recipe on Whole Foods website).
I eat spinach for breakfast! On toasted hemp bread and some coffee and a tall glass of water.
I'm a weirdo, but I love this for bfast!
31I love the idea about green tea and spearmint tea together!
Lately it's been cold and I've been having Bob's red mill high fiber cereal mixed with a bit of water and microwaved, then mixed with cinnamon and soymilk and microwaved again. Sometimes I add a sliced half banana. It's kind of like cream of wheat.
Another go-to is yogurt mixed with all-bran bran buds.
32I eat oatmeal and pb toast every morning almost. I know, I'm boring, but I love it, it holds me over, and there is about 8g of fiber.
33I love eating fiber one cereal with skim milk, lots of cinnamon mixed in, a baked apple with just cinnamon sprinkled, and of course, coffee
34My answer is about the same as Caboose's! I am a cereal addict. Occasionally if I have time (and the ingredients) I'll make a breakfast burrito with 1 egg & 2 egg whites. Or sometimes oatmeal. Occasionally I'll have toast (with something else). But 95% of the time it's CEREAL!
How do yall find the time to prepare such a breakfast?????? I usually have to spend a minimum of 5 minutes just preparing my lunch!
35That breakfast sounds delicious Giggle.
I never have too much time to fix breakfast, so eggs are never on the menu. My favorite quickie is toast with peanut butter and a banana sliced on top.
I'm usually a cereal gal though. I love the new cinnamon pecan Special K!
36My ideal breakfast is a bowl of oatmeal with strawberries and cream, two or three poached eggs, a couple of pieces of streaky bacon, a few links of breakfast sausage, some ham, and toast with marmalade or grape jelly.
Yes, I know my eating habits predispose me to dying young.
Most days my breakfast is a cigarette and some water, because I like to get out of bed 10 minutes before I have to get to work.
Still dying young, though.
37If I'm travelling: multigrain bread with peanut butter, a fruit (usually a banana) and a cup of tea.
If I'm not travelling, something that fits Harley Pasternak's 5-factor like a veg soup with lamb dumplings.
38I love breakfast burritos, or omelets! I think it's really hard to get enough servings of veggies so I try really hard to have one in the morning. I buy lots of fresh veggies and put them together in different variations in my burritos and omelets. I also normally eat a piece of fruit before heading off to the gym. When I get back I get to make my real breakfast, which always includes green tea and a tall glass of water. I feel SO much better when I'm adequately hydrated!
39Here's mine.
I make this breakfast trifle every Sunday It remains a weekly staple in my fridge and
doubles for my go-to healthy snack. I love this stuff!!!

40I am a huge cereal addict, so I eat All Bran cereal (their new strawberry medley is great!) with skim milk and a piece of whole wheat toast with honey chunky pb on it. I also devour 2 cups of decaff black tea before I leave the house.
This will hold me over until 1 p.m. when I eat lunch.
When I have time to prepare it's a spanish-veggie omelete with ww toast and honey chunky pb. and of course my 2 cups decaff black tea.
41Wow, how does everyone have time to do this every morning? Most of the time, I have a piece of fruit (usually a banana), a Bolthouse Farms Protein Smoothie/Latte/Shake and a piece of toast.
42wow - I'm printing out this whole page, there are some great breakfast ideas!
My favorite breakfast (especially in spring summer and early fall) nonfat, plain greek yogurt(1/2-3/4 of a cup or so) covered in seasonal fruits (peaches, strawberries, blueberries are my fav). ymmmm...
In the colder months, steel cut oatmeal with fresh chopped apples, raisins, pecans (or whatever nut I have around), and some honey.
catander - I really like the idea of getting a serving of veggies in first thing.
43I usually have two carrots, an apple and coffee! I know weird but I'm not really into carbs in the morning. A nice cucumber and tomato salad is really refreshing especially during the summer
44Steel cut oats in the crock pot... so good and it fills you up! Add a bit of cinnamon, some dried fruit... delicious!
45Breakfast is too heavy, so I usually have an egg and some fruit.
46My three favorites:
1. Plain oatmeal with raspberries, pecans, unsweetened large flake coconut and almond milk
2. Nancy's plain nonfat yogurt with raspberries and granola
3. Two scrambled eggs with black beans, corn, red peppers, onion, and garlic. Topped with nonfat plain yogurt and salsa. YUM!
47Yogurt mixed with a flake cereal like smart start or total. It makes it more filling than cereal and milk, and I wash it down with some orange juice.
48I love all these suggestions.
I like to cut up a banana into slices, put them in a bowl, sprinkle cinnamon over them and pour some Silk vanilla soy milk over the creation.
Like cereal, only with a banana!
49i make the best breakfast burritos!
50a scramble of egg whites and chorizo,
put in a tortilla
with shredded cheese mix is DELICIOUS
