Do you want to run a marathon and don't want to train alone? Are you are interested in participating in a triathlon and want some outside motivation? Then Team In Training (TNT) might just be for you.

With TNT you raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society so you are training for a cause. Plus, you join a team that is training (hence the name) for endurance events just like you. Once you join the team in your area, you receive personalized fitness training by certified coaches for a four to five month period, access to training clinics, your own Web site for online fundraising, and lodging and airfare to your event. All that and you are going to make a lot of new friends as you train with your team.
Interested? Just enter your zip code on the entry page of the Team In Training to find out what events folks are training for in your area.

I was just in Arizona last weekend running the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n Roll Marathon with Team in Training. I had run one marathon previously, but this experience was so much more fun! Plus, it was so much more motivating to train because I wasn't on my own, and I always knew I was doing it for a good cause.
1I completed the Rock 'n Roll Marathon with them in San Diego back in June 2007 and it was beyond a simple experience...it was great!
It is a great cause, but know that if you don't raise ALL of the money you will be responsible for the whole amount you agreed to raise, which if you want to travel can be thousands of dollars.
Good Luck!
2I have been training with Team in Training since the beginning of December. Although I have already run a marathon, I thought joining TNT would make the experience of training and running the race more social and definitely more rewarding. So far, the program has really lived up to my expectations--I have met great people, raised money for a great cause, and done something great for my body all at the same time!
I'd encourage everyone to at least look into joining TNT or at least attending an informational meeting to see what it is all about. It can be a great idea if you want to run, bike, or walk a long distance, or if you want to do a triathlon but you are unsure of how to go about doing it!
3Thanks for the extra information!
mimsical, what race are you training for?
4I'm training for the Capital of Texas triathlon & I LOVE it!!
