We all know that beer, wine, and cocktails can pack some serious calories, not to mention get you tipsy. But you can definitely make smarter choices at the bar to avoid consuming unnecessary calories and fat. How well do you know the nutritional stats on your hard alcohol drinks? Take my little quiz to find out.
1 of 3Question 1

Labour Of Love
Club des Crホateurs de Beautホ
Warehouse
3/3!!!
1Mmm i lvoe my vokda-sodas
I rarely drink so 2/3 isn't so bad.
22/3
3for an 18 year old isn't bad haha
Wow at the amnt of fat in Baileys! My roommate drinks it almost every night.
4hmmmmm this is why I only drink wine... too many calories and fat grams to keep track of!
5calories smalories!
61/3! I'm with you Lauren, at least wine doesn't have fat in it!
7at first, i was bummed i only got 2/3 (i used to be a bartender!), but that question about the parrot bay coconut rum totally threw me off! definitely would've guessed the sweeter alcohol would have more calories. you learn something new every day.
8I totally thought the coconut rum would have more calories. Good to know! Thanks for the info!
9Oh but gin and tonic is my favorite! Maybe I'll try the other.
10I object! They should have specified vodka and CLUB soda not just soda. I was thinking soda ie: sprite, 7-up etc.
11Also one could argue that if you are drinking Bacardi 151 Rum you are *probably* to get your "drunk" on and if that is the case it would probably take only one shot of 151. Whereas you might need 2 or more shots of Parrot Bay, so at 2 shots you are at 188 calories. Hence by drinking the 151 you are saving yourself 6 calories...hehehe...okay I've thought about this too much
12Which of these simple cocktails has more calories?
Your answer: A vodka and soda
Correct answer: A gin and tonic
Though gin and vodka each have about 97 calories per 1.5-ounce, a shot of tonic water isn't very water-like at all. It has 83 calories per cup, while club soda is calorie free.
didn't i get this right?? tonic water has more cals... and i said vodka soda...?
13The answer key to the first question is wrong.
14Hey all -
Guess I was feeling a little tricky when I wrote the first question, because it is asking which drink has MORE calories. So you are right, siúcra gaelach, tonic does have MORE calories than club soda. SO the gin and tonic has MORE calories and is the correct answer.
Now, if you are looking to order a low cal cocktail you know that tonic as a mixer has MORE calories than club soda.
15I do love gin and tonics though. It's what I order 75% of the time that I go out.
161/3. booo.
i don't drink that much liquor. i'll stick to my wine and beer.
17I remember the day I first discovered that tonic water had an insane amount of calories. Who would have thought!? It was a sad day. I'm a vodka-soda girl now, too.
181/3. I suck at these quizzes. Nothing is going to come between me and my beer though.
19Yes, I do know this, but I love my vodka cocktails.
20drinking definitely got the better of my waistline! since starting drinking, just about a year ago, i have gained about 15 pounds! yikes! now i stick to drinking mimosas and other lower-cal drinks, and much less frequently. besides weight gain, i probably did some serious damage to my body with my heavy drinking! now i'm working to shape back up!
21Hi - I'd just like to ask that question 1 be changed to actually say club soda - I thought it meant cola and as we call cola (like coke and pepsi
) soda
Just my 2 cents
Thanks though, I knew Irish Creme had fat, but didn't know it was that much! ouch!
22Wine has 700 calories per glass. Ya may wanna re-think the 'I only drink wine' thing.
