Before I had kids, I loved to get up before work and get in a good workout. It felt so great to do something for myself and to get in some "me time" to clear my mind for the day ahead. I also loved feeling so energized and awake (it was better than any cup of coffee). Not only that, but if I didn't do it first thing in the morning, I'd be so busy all day and too tired to go to the gym after work. Now that I have kids, I work out whenever I can fit it into my schedule and sometimes it doesn't happen until 9 PM, which for me is not ideal.

So I'm wondering. . .

mid morning? i mean around 10 to 11 am and force myself to workout again at 4 pm
1I've tried all different times, and I've finally settled on early morning as my favorite. I have the most energy in the morning anyway, so I get a great workout. I get it out of the way early so I don't have time to get too busy to go or make excuses. Plus I feel a lot better for the rest of the day.
2M, W, F I get up early & workout before work, and T & Th I let myself sleep in, and I work out after work. I take a break Sat & Sun!
3i'm in college so even though exercise is usually the first thing i do after i eat breakfast, its probably a lot later in the morning than people who have to get up for work.
4it's a toss up. i work out during lunch most days becuase it's better than going to eat in my opinion and the gym is less crowded. i then usually go after work so that's my other fav time. i used to ONLY work out later at night - like 9ish - partly due to crowds, partly due to the fact that i could miss dinner and partly due to the fact that i would be WIPED when i got home and go right to bed.
5i go every morning before work, at around 9... the gym is right on the way so its convenient and i feel bad if i pass it up. haha
6I go after work and usually in the afternoon... I am definetly NOT a morning person haha
7I barely know my own name first thing in the morning, so there's no way I can get on a treadmill pre-9 a.m. After work is best because I can get out all the stress and annoyance I built up at work!
8I work at 8AM and there is no way I can force myself to get up any earlier! I love working out after work. I run in this park with lots of hills and as I'm finishing I end up on the top of this huge hill overlooking all the big trees and the sun going down. Beautiful! But on the weekends, I run in the morning.
9I work out with my boyfriend every day when he gets off work, we usuallly get in around 6pm. But M,W,F I also do 30 min cardio around 11:30-noon
10my working out time is after my boy has been put to bed, typically sometime after 8pm. hey fitsugar - can consistently working out at this time hinder my efforts to shift those pounds?
11Despite finally getting myself to do it regularly, exercise still isn't something I really *want* to do, so I have to do it early or it just won't get done.
12When I used to go the gym regularly (can't afford a membership anymore) I would always go right after work or after dinner depending on the time of the class I wanted to take.
13Before work in the morning and later at night around 9:30pm, after the "after work/school" crowd clears out.
14I prefer to work out in the morning, but since I've been going with two girls from work, we usually head over right after work... and then we run in the morning on Saturdays.
15I run at 5:30 AM before work and either lift, run again or do some easy cardio after work with my boyfriend at the gym.
16I like to go after work.
17I prefer to go in the mornings but lately it's been more after work. I hate feeling like my entire night is gone by the time I actually get to sit down. One of these days I'll start getting up on time again
18I wish I could make myself get up early and go before work but most of the time I make it after work.
19Well - I PREFER (which is the one that I marked
) to get up early in the morning and
do my cardio (I like to switch off every day from cardio and strength training) and weights. But lately I've been doing it after work because I've been going to bed too late to get up in the
morning. I like to do a good one-hour long workout, so that means I have to get up at 5am to fit it in on time and then get ready for work. 5am isn't ideal...
... but like Tutta shared, I don't like feeling that my entire night is almost gone by the
time I get back from the gym and make some dinner.
20If I don't go in the morning before work I won't go. I have gotten better about going in the evening if I miss my morning workout but sometimes I get lazy especially when it is cold.
21I work out at five every day.
It's a little sunny out and by the time I am done running, the sun sets. It's really nice.
(it's been way to cold this past week though, running in gloves is not fun!)
22i love working out late at night. straight to the shower and then bed! i find that i sleep better too. i am NOT a morning person
23I work out after work every day. The gym validates my parking so I have to go no matter what. So...if I'm there, might as well work out!
On weekends I sleep in and run around the lakes with friends.
24morning time.
25After work is best for me.
26I used to love doing it in the morning, but now that I'm working full-time I have to wait until after work.
27I went before work a few times but lately I've been too tired to get up at 6am, so I go after work at 6 pm. I just hate getting home at 8:30...stupid hour long subway ride in ny!!
28Whenever I can!
29Mostly, I work out after work. but sometimes I try to at lunch or during the day
well, work definitely gets in the way and is the deciding factor on when we work out. we go in the evening after dinner. we normally arrive at the gym around 7:45pm...it's not ideal, but the only other option would be in the morning and there's NO WAY i'm getting up at 5am to work out. if i didn't have a job, i think i would work out mid-morning around 10am or so.
30uptown_girl I like your idea...
31whenever I can. I usually aim for an early morning workout but if I don't make it out of bed then I'll just go after work. I like going to classes at my gym and the only time I can make those is in the morning.
32I like to workout in the afternoon.
33gal321: snap!
34midmorning, I work at night & can go after school
35I prefer the afternoon but with work, I can't squeeze it in, so I go after work... I just can't get myself out of bed to go before work...
36I exercise at different points throughout the day. Ideally I'd like to work out after class/before dinner (I'm in college) but the gym is beyond busy (1+ hour waits for cardio machines!). So I'll go before class which is anywhere from 8am to 12pm because I start late. Otherwise I'll work out at 10:30pm or later when the gym isn't as busy.

38i'm trying to workout ideally early in the morning because my classes don't start until 11 or so, however it usually depends on how much sleep i get the night beforehand. to function properly i usually need at least 7 hours of sleep. otherwise if i don't get enough sleep in the morning i usually workout after my classes end around 1pm.
39My preference is mid morning, after breakfast has digested and the coffee has kicked in. I only get to do this on the weekend, however. On work days, I just fit it in whenever I can.
