I'm always looking for ways to fill up on good stuff so I don't stuff myself with the bad stuff. One tip that really works for me is to always eat a small salad before eating dinner. I don't allow myself to eat anything else before finishing my salad, which means by the time I get around to my main meal I've already loaded up on veggies. What's more? Half the time I find myself fuller quicker and I'm not as likely to overeat on the less healthy items that usually come with the main course — this means fewer calories too. Plus eating more salad increases your intake of vitamins C, E, B6, and folic acid — key nutrients in promoting health.
Fit's Tip: Skip the dressing altogether or opt for something light — I like to use a little balsamic vinegar.

I almost always get a salad before my meal when I'm out to eat...nothing fancy, just a small tossed salad with Balsamic Vinagrette dressing.
1I absolutely agree with this. I love having a salad before my meal. It definitely fills you up.
2I looooooooooooove salad.
3Yah, I do this too. Sometimes I get a soup instead if I know it's good at that restaurant.
4I love that Red Lobster serves you your salad before your meal. I do not do the whole eat a small salad before your meal thing otherwise.
5I do this sometimes, but I usually have a salad as my meal. I get it with some sort of protein on top and I skip the cheese and other fattening extras they usually try to add. I get some light dressing on the side and I usually end up pretty satisfied.
6Yay! I always eat a salad with my dinner!!!
7What I have also found helpful is to ask for a to go box before your main course arrives.. eat the dinner salad.. when your main course arrives immediately cut everything in half and put it in the to go box. You then can enjoy half the calories of what is normally too large of a portion anyways and have lunch for the next day.
8I always try to eat something green before my meal. If I don't get a salad, I definitely eat the veggies that come with my entree first. I read that eating greens, other veggies and fruit before carbs and protein is best because your body can properly break down and use the nutrients better than when everything is eaten together.
