I've asked you to tell me all your New Year's Resolutions for 2008 and a lot of you had the same goals in mind so I am wondering what is the number one New Year's Resolution for 2008. Which of the following New Year's Resolutions tops your list as your number one goal for 2008?
Happy New Year's Eve and enjoy your last few hours of 2007!

Out of these choices, I'd like to start recycling more than I do now. And exercise more too.
1exercise more!!!
2This was my NY resolution post on this site for 2007 hopes:
Ok here we go again.
Two years ago I lost two stones. I've since put it all back on.
I actually have about 8 stones to lose.
So my new years resolution is blindingly obvious- lose weight and keep it off.
I want to be able to walk around without getting hot/sticky and out of breath. To go into stores and buy clothes off the rack that'll fit me just because they will.
I want to look good!
Here's hoping
Well I've lost over 100lbs (slight regain - working on it) and can run (three miles without stopping). So this years resolution whilst to carry on (44lbs left to drop and want to run more) is to do more 'fun' things. I want to experience things so going tto go somewhere/do something new each month! Bit like 52 weeks of baking but its 12 months of experience
3I have a number of resolutions, but my main resolution is to STICK to it! I don't have a problem starting something, I have a problem with follow-through!
4I passed the 30 mark this past year & now find it a little more difficult to keep my weight in check. I don't want to buy new pants or eat less, so exercise more it is!
5MIne are exercise more (which I've already been doing, Cardio like 5 times a week) and traing for a race. It's just a 5K but I want to RUN this time!
6I have the standard "lose weight" goal, but I'm focusing on long-distance cycling more: last year I did a metric century (65 miles) and hit 75 miles in training, this year I'm riding in a metric century in February and am planning at least one organized century!
7Last time I made a resolution to run a 7-minute mile again like I did in high school.
And I did! Yay me!
So this time I'm going to make a resolution to run a half-marathon before the year is over. Woo!
8My resolutions this year involve all of these things--to just make myself better overall--to recycle more, eat better, exercise more, spend more time with husband/friends/family instead of tv, read more, drink more water and less soda--and to stick with it all!
I see great things happening in 2008!
9A friend and I started the 100-mile challenge on the 27th. We hope to do this six times during the year. This is my behavior way to get to the result of losing weight. I have 80 pounds (or so) I'd like to see leave my body. I'm also going to try a modified vegetarian (lacto-ovo) way of eating. I am hoping use this to make a smaller, healthier me!
10I want to get back to exercising more, without having to pop painkillers all the time. I had a major back injury in August and have gained 10 lbs since then because I can't work out my normal 6 days/week without having to take a Vicodin post-workout. I'm determined that this year I will suck it up and bite the bullet and just learn to deal with the pain because I can't spend the rest of my life sitting around gaining wait or addicted to Vicodin.
11Exercise more and I've already started because I had the motivation last week! Also, I need to eat less sweets...
12EAT LESS SWEETS!
13Eat healthier, exercise more and I think that's about it.
14For 2008:
15- Continue my training to run a 5K
- Lose those last few pounds
- Drink more water
- Work on my will power to refuse chocolate
Eat fewer sweets. I can avoid everything but sugar. I just crave it all the time.
16My one and only goal this year is to exercise regularly. No more "when in I feel better" or "when I'm not so tired" excuses. It's every day, no excuses.
17Eat less sweets.
I just got diagnosed diabetic type 2 so I really need to get my sugar cravings in check. =/
18I want to work on having a healthier attitude toward eating and exercise... I've been dealing with eating disorders for 1/4 of my life.
19I want to run 1,000 miles over the course of 2008.
20To go out more
21to study regularly and also exercise more often
22For 2008
23-Become vegan. I have been a veggie for 9 years.
-Eat less sugar!!! I can't help it, I'm so addicted!
-Run my first marathon!! Whoo hoo!
Make friends...and find love !
24I just got certified as a Group Centergy Instructor (like Body Flow just a different company.) This was a proud moment for me as I was not a very physcially-fit person growing up. When I married into my husband's family of triathlon-ers and runners I had to step up somehow. I found yoga more to my taste. I balance this by forcing myself onto an elliptical four to five times a week. My goal this year is to start dance lessons - a childhood dream.
Kudos to Sugar_Rush. People like you inspire me! Good luck to everyone who has posted their health resolutions for this year!
25I've lost a ton of weight this year and really gotten the exercise thing turned into daily habit. Which was actually my New Years resolution at the beginning of 07 so I'm shocked I followed through!
26But for 08 I resolve to whiten and care for my teeth more. I used to smoke a few years back and love tea and coffee. I have a nice smile but really want to amp up the color a few notches, as well as just love my teeth more.
I chose "train for a race", but really my answer is all of the above, plus...
More random acts of kindness.
Less thinking only of myself.
Develop a deeper relationship with God.
So basically...become a better person, lol.
27I already work out a lot, but I want to start strength training more and I hope to gain 5-10 lbs of good muscle mass. My main goal is to love my body and not be so negative about little imperfections that I can't change. I also want to become pregnant this year, so I want to work on making sure my bod's ready for it.
28exercise!
29eat cleaner!
30exercise more!
31and read this blog more. its has tons of great info.
great!!!!!!!!!!
32My 2008 Resolution is to body build.
There I announced it. I would never say that to anyone in person because they would laugh inside if not right out. I am such a mess!
I worked yesterday (New Year's Eve) and when I went to the restroom I saw myself several feet away from a huge full length mirror and it was horrible. Yes, I knew I was overweight but I am so disgusted. I try to diet by restricting calories but I see I need to do something to sculpt, too. I figure if I just outright body build other things will sort of fall into place.
I should get stronger (I've very, very weak and no energy), I'll eat healthier (I overeat but would not want to wreck body building), and I hope to gain some confidence (I would get around better and hopefully look a little better).
I am so weak and this is going to be extremely hard to begin mentally and physically but I am going to go for it. Today I'm going to find at least one exercise to do.
It is my sincere wish that all you Fit People have a prosperous and safe and healthy 2008.
33Eat more organic products. I'm going to ease into it, though, starting with fruit. Pesticides =
34I'm going to learn Norwegian and lose 22 pounds exactly! I'm gonna lead a healthier more active lifestyle and find more time to just chill. Less stress this year!
35I lost 55 lbs. about 4 years ago and I put it all back on and then some. So, this year (well the last day in 2007) my boyfriend bought me an elliptical trainer. Since that is the way I lost it all before, I'm hopeful that I can do it again. I'm also going to start watching fit sugar (I normally peruse geek sugar) too! I'm not putting a weight # on it this time either, I'm just going to keep going until I feel/look how I want!
Happy 2008!!
36I definitely need to exercise more. I have so many ways of putting off. Even though once I finally exercise, I feel really really good, I just can never bring myself to do it again.
As a result, after losing over 30 lbs. I'm steadily gaining it back. Bye-bye budding thigh gap!
I need to exercise again, but motivation is hard.
Sometimes it seems easier to not eat, but that's not healthy.
I need to exercise. I need to stick with it. Pray for me! or if you're not into that, just wish me luck!
37Right now the only organic item I have is a box of Weetabix cereal biscuits. I would like to eat organic produce but it is so extra expensive. I hope to afford to ease into to, too.
38I always liked to look of Swedish but can you believe I never even considered that Norwegian was a language! That is so cool. Good luck on that. I'm sure it will be very interesting.
39I'd love an ellipitical. My dream has always been one of those major tredmills. I bet I'd use it daily and it would benefit me. I never get to just walk and walk. My area is congested with traffic and frankly I am out of shape and fear falling on the uneven pavements and sidewalks. What I like to do is march in place or walk on a flat area if I can find it while listening to military cadence tapes. Of course they are perfect for stepping and inspiring too. Let us be able to report some progress a year from now!
40Ok! Ruby Jewel Stone, I will be praying for you to have success and achieve your fitness goals. I'm serious, I'm writing your name down here and I will be reminded of this each time I sit down at the computer.
Why is it it is so much harder to restart something than it is to begin it in the first place? I have that, too.
You pray for me, too, ok??
41Sure thing Saturday. And thank you!
Oh well, in the end you have to make like that good Nike slogan and "Just do it!" I noticed that just planning to do something makes you overthink it sometimes. In that case, it's better to just drop everything and do it!
After all, after I typed that first comment, I thought to myself "what's stopping me from doing it?" Laziness. So, right then and there, I got up and did a work out. I just hope I can impulsively jump up and do it again the next day and the next.
I really just have to make sure not to overthink it, after all, once I start something, I really want to reach the end. But if I start thinking about it then I start to go, "Well maybe less..." "That was sloppy and it won't have the same effect...oh well I'll do twice as much tomorrow to make it up."
I need to learn to live in the now. I pray I can keep on with it and you too and everyone else with their respective resolutions.
Saying something is one thing. Getting up and doing it NOW is another.
42I just want to encourage people to think about resolving to become vegetarian or even just eating less meat in the new year. It's easy and worth it. Cutting back on meat will make you healthier, will shrink your impact on the environment, and, of course, is kinder to our animal friends. Anyways, happy new year!
43Oh, and MY resolution is to drastically cut my egg/milk/animal byproduct intake.
44i think that almost everyone has the resolution to work out more and eat less and lose weight. for myself - it's something that i strive for all year round - so i don't set the resolution for the new year
45Lose weight, drink more water, recycle, and learn Italian! Oh...and find love...
The goal now is to lose 5 pounds a month...here's to 2008!
46I will surf in 2008. I always thought I'd enjoy surfing but I'm terrified of the ocean creatures. Well this year tentacled critters be damned, I will release my inner Gidget. I've already scouted locations from worst case scenario - Long Island to possibly Puerto Rico, Cabo, San Diego or Hawaii. I think this goal will also keep me fitness oriented to look good in the swimsuit to do it.
I'm also planning on doing my 2nd marathon this year, and being more financially fit as well.
47I laove making resolutions i just fall off the wagon so easily ugh
My priority is to lose the excess weight. I was very as a teen and while i love being curvy now, they are becoming increasingly buried under flab. So the weight must go..I have begun watching what i eat actually a week ago and my girlfriends and I about 11 total are doing a fitness challenge with near 500 bucks on the line. So im hoping my greed for money will overpower the need for colas and candy lol.
I also need to let go of my victim mentality it is such a drag blaming the world for my issues lol.
And I want real love at long last
48everything else will fall into place when i get these things in order
oops LOVE LOL
49My new years resoulutions are too love my body and just be heatlhy and happy. oh and quit smoking finally
