2008 Is just around the corner. Can you believe it? While we all have various resolutions for the new year, none tops the list more than losing a few unwanted pounds. I'm curious though — have you already started working on it or are you waiting until Jan. 1 to start losing weight?

I've already started to work on it though it has been hard because there is so much junk food around. I started a new workout routine which is more like circuit training than your 'typical' muscle group workout and its great. The workout program is in the latest Marie Claire and was put together by Jillian of the Biggest Loser. It is kicking my butt but now I need to work on the diet aspect. I am figuring that part will fall into place once new years eve has passed.
1I've started working on it, but I'm waiting till January to start using my new journal/logs that you gave us, I'm doing a whole binder thing with pictures and everything! Thanks again!
2Gotta finish off the Christmas cookies first! But seriously does anyone just let it go these days? I'm constantly working on it.
3I've actually started working out a bit. I'll go back to my full routine in a few weeks.
4my family is visiting from texas and there is no time in my mother's schedule for me to workout. i'm cutting back on "bad stuff" but lord my jeans are tight.
5I started last year and am just continuing the work this year. I wrote a blog about it yesterday
6Nope! Christmas was my day off and I stuffed myself enough! I just did 90 minutes of cardio at the gym and I am SOAKED. I'm reading fitsugar while the shower warms
I wish I could wait until '08 but i've got a lot of weight to lose.
7I've lost 5 lbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I gained around 8lbs last year sometime and haven't been able to lose it. Go figure that I was able to lose it during the hardest time of the year. I'm at 123 right now and want to get to 115, but more importantly work on getting more toned by summer.
I really need to start working on bathing suit season now, since I work in a bathing suit all summer. Having fat days when you have to wear a bathing suit to work are not fun.
8I'm just waiting until the day that i'm not lazy anymore.
9I started a couple weeks ago, but it's sort of half assed. I'm not really dieting but I'm trying to be consistent about working out. I see my trainer in a n hour!
10I didn't gain a thing over the holidays, so I'm not really looking to lose anything. I haven't left my routine by the curb though...I'm still continuing to work out and eat right, just like I normally do.
11I started eating better and have been eating better for 5 days now. I will continue in the new year. I need to start exercising and I am looking for a routine-I will actually stick to. This is the first time I ever tried to lose weight.
12YES! I had a wacky, crappy year and I cannot WAIT for it to just be over with!!!!
13I'm not losing weight. It kind of saddens me that so many people want to, honestly.
14lol I was thinking about starting Saturday but I have so much bad food in the fridge that I need to finish off so I am probably going to wait until the 1st, or at least the 31st so I can start on a Monday instead of Tuesday.
15I have been doing a diet plan but it went down the toilet this week. I'll be back on track next week!
16Why wait? That's just an excuse. Plus, don't people want to look good ON NYE? I know I do.
17I've started to work out again. But, I can't seem to eat healthy. That's always the hardest part for me. Anyone have any tips?
18my goal is 30 pounds for 08...and starting to mentally prepare by wearing my work out gear around the house and dancing...
19I've already started working on it, I just can't see the point in waiting a week.
20Hello, This is Mary
I am 36 years old with 2 toddlers. My youngest just started day care last week- which still feels a little strange. I haven't had this much time to myself in years. First thing I want to do is lose the extra pounds I put on during the last pregnancy. One of the girls next door has suggested I join her walking group two days a week. After my first pregnancy I lost around 35 pounds using the Herbalife products, but when I called the man that sold them to me three years ago he told me this week he doesn't sell them anymore. He told me to look on the internet. It's disappointing because he was really nice and he called me regularly to make sure I was using their products correctly. It was nice to have someone checking in with me every week to see how I was and it kept me motivated.
I searched on the internet for someone that sells Herbalife in New Jersey. I found many websites but I don't want
just to buy the products, I want to find someone trustworthy that sells the products so I can also meet them and get started again.
Could anybody here recommend someone in New Brunswick?
.
Thanks, Mary
21i don't really believe in new years resolution because they are things that you should be doing at any point in the year. i started my goal setting and reaching a while ago - and i'm going to continue on into the new year
22Oh man, I CAN'T wait. I lost 15 pounds between July and September and easily maintained it.....until Thanksgiving rolled around....all that rich food and not as much time to dedicate to exercise and I've gained 5 pounds back. To put this into perspective, I'm only 5'2, so five pounds on me looks like a lot more than five pounds on someone who is 5'10.
23I'm joining the gym because I need cardio in my life. I live by a highway so there is no safe place for me to walk in my neighborhood. Sucks that I have to pay the membership fee but I am hoping that the gym environment will help me to stay motivated!
24if you wait -- it means it's like a diet or a punishment and you want to enjoy while there's "time left." good health & nutrition is a way of life - not something to stop and start. if you look at it that way and indulge on occasion, stay fit, eat healthy - it's much easier to adopt. it's worth it!!!
25I'm starting now, by eating heathly. Take the stairs and mimi workouts.
26I've been working out for a year and a bit already so no I'm not waiting until January 1st!
27I'll probably wait until January 1st to stop eating all these Christmas goodies though
I ALWAYS LOSE WEIHGT DURING THE HOLIDAYAS BECUZ I SLEEP ALL DAY AND DONT EAT SO I DONT NEED 2 DO NETHING DURING THE NEW YREAR
28I'm "starting" on the 31st, just because it's a Monday and I like starting new routines on Mondays. I'm not really starting anything new, just a new workout journal, but with the holidays my focus has been on maintaining, so now that they are over I'm gearing up again to lose the last 5-10 pounds. Trying to lose with the holidays was impossible, too much to do!
29I work out pretty regularly anyways, but I have beefed up to shed some winter pounds...I had to start before January...I have a wedding in Cuba on January 8th!!! Crunch time is on!
30Yah...I started December 26th so come January 1st...it won't feel as daunting to get back in the gym..I've already had a week of lightly getting back to it.
31No waiting for me! Im getting married in 08 so ive got to get a move on it.
32I usually watch what I eat, but I really want to lose five pounds and get more toned starting January 1st. My main goal is actually to quit smoking, and I'm worried I will gain weight. It's very hard for me to deal with weight gain because I used to be anorexic and bulimic. I used smoking to replace those addictions, so it's going to be tough on January 1st.
33Hi Mary,
>From one mom to another I think I have a solution for you!! I want to lose 40 pounds, and I've lost 28 so far!!! I am feeling fantastic and have more energy than I did when I was in college. I went through three different Herbalife distributors until I found the person I felt really actually cared about me and helped me to start getting results. The bottom line was that I wanted to find somebody that could offer me good prices, but that could also check in with me to make sure I was doing ok.
I used to drive two hours to meet with my first distributor in West Haven, Connecticut. I even brought the girls with me a few times because I couldn't find a babysitter. Today my Herbalife coach does everything over the phone and it is much easier with my busy schedule. You can order Herbalife online on his website, you get the shakes a few days after with FedEx and then you can setup a telephone meeting once a week to make sure you are doing the program right.
His name is Danny Castello and his website is www.goshape.com. The number is (310) 928- 3835. He and his girlfriend Michaela actually do most of the coaching together as a team, but she has an Herbalife site as well: www.puresteps.com. He does most of the motivation on the call and gives you important facts regarding nutrition. He can be a bit tough but he really wants you to get results. She is a bit softer- so they make a good combination. Actually I also recommend joining his newsletter first so you can see the articles on nutrition. They also have videos so you can see who they are before actually calling them. Its nice because they actually use the products too. You can see on their websites.
Hope this helps!
Liz
34Getting in the last of my Doritos now...
35I always work out more during the holiday season to make up for all the extra fat & sugar I know I'll eat.
36i've started in the aspect that i'm working out everyday. i'm waiting in the whole food aspect- i can't help but to eat the cookies in the kitchen! plus i'm going to log my food intake starting on the 1st...
37It just happened to turn out that way as that is when I got my elliptical!
