Are you planning a trip abroad and need to brush up on your French? Why not use time spent working out to learn a language instead of watching reruns on TV or listening to the same old songs?

There are tons of books and CDs out there, but I found that the iSpeak programs work really well. Not only are they fairly inexpensive (around $13), but you can download the lessons to your iPod or MP3 player and listen while out for a walk or on a cardio machine (or a drive for that matter, but let's stick to fitness). They offer programs to help you learn French, Italian, Spanish, German, and many other languages. You'll feel so productive, working both your body and your mind. Bueno!

This is awesome! I have been wanting to work on my French, but wasn't too excited about spending a lot of money on something I wasn't sure would work for me. I am going to check this out tonight. Thanks Fit!
1Very cool! I might give this a try.
2I've been wanting to learn Italian. My family wants to go next fall so this would be perfect.
3I'm totally getting the French tutorial. Took French in middle school, high school, and college, so I don't want to get rusty!
4Ha! It's pretty funny I was thinking of purchasing the Rosetta Stone for a couple of different languages.. But it is so expensive. Does anyone know how good this is?
5Check your local library. They should have these on CD, if they don't offer downloadables. It's free!
6I wish they had one for Greek -- I would have bought one right now since it looks like I'll be in Greece for 3 weeks in May.
7I like this idea! I would like to learn another language.
8would this work w/ an ipod shuffle?
9That lady looks *SO* excited!!! That being said, I would definitely do this!
10I love the idea, I'm definitively going to get the German one.
11I'm with librarychick; I love to download books from the library for free!
I have
two Spanish language audio books on my Zen right now, and I listen while riding my bike.
12I couldn't see myself repeating the phrases on a treadmill at the gym.
