Last night at the gym I forced myself to do the StairMaster — in case you didn't know, I hate the StairMaster. I would much rather use any other cardio machine at the gym but I know that I need variety in my workout so I pushed through it knowing that it would be a few weeks before I had to use it again. I started thinking while I was on it, "Am I the only one who dislikes this machine so much?" So of course that brings me to you guys, what is your least favorite cardio machine to use?
If you don't want to focus on the negative, you can still vote on your favorite cardio machine. And why not turn that negative energy into something positive and make your New Year's Resolution to learn to love, or at least use, your least favorite piece of cardio equipment. Too much of a challenge? Let me know in the comments section below.

Jean Paul Gaultier
Lanvin
Missoni
Treadmill.
It destroyed my knees because it turns out I have a patella grind!! I avoid it like the plague now.
1I hate stairmaster i cannot use it more than 10 minutes maybe i don't know how to use it or my knees are very weak
2I hate the stairmaster, but I hate the stepmill even more! I can only last about 5 minutes on it.
3My least favorite are bad (cheap?) ellipticals. There are two kinds at my gym that are both excellent. But when I've tried hotel gyms when I'm out of town, their ellipticals always seem really awkward. It feels like I'm going to either fall backwards or forwards, and my knees end up hurting a lot.
4i've never cared for the stair master - and since i hurt my knee - i stay away from those things
5It's a toss up between the stairmaster and the stationary bike. Ultimately the Stairmaster gets my vote.
6I wish I liked to work out...
The only one I can stand is the eliptical...
7My least favorite is the stationary bike because i feel like it does nothing for me. I have a hard time getting my heart rate up on it, maybe i'm doing it wrong?
8I always feel like I'm going to die on the Stepmaster... ugh. Give me 2 minutes on that thing and I'm done.
9I hate the stationary bike to no end.
10Wow, I'm in the majority. Stationary bikes are just SO BORING! And Stair Masters kill my knees!
11The stationary bike does nothing for me. i could be on it for an hour and not break a sweat! Useless.
12I hate staionary bikes too! So horrible!
13how do you even USE a rowing machine?? i never understand them.
14Stairmaster. That stupid thing kicks my @ss everytime.
Also I agree about the cheap ellipitcal ones... My gym has nice ones, but if you use one that you would find at a sporting goods store or in a hotel those ones are horrible. They feel unstable, like I'm going to fall off it.
15I can't stand the bikes. They're so boring. I dont mind the stair type machines, I feel like I'm actually really working out when I use those. But the bikes I never feel like I'm doing anything. And I'm never comfortable on them, it's like my body doesn't fit on it oor something. Yuck
16I basically dislike all machines -- they're so boring and monotonous -- the treadmill is ok and I think the stairmill is pretty effective, but I'd much rather take a spinning class or body sculpting class.
17i like the stairmaster! i dont feel anything on stationary bikes
18I hate the elliptical. I always get the worst post-workout cramps from that machine b/c my feet don't move. Plus its so boring and I don't feel like I'm getting as good of a workout on it as I do on the treadmill.
19The right stationary bike is great; I love the burning in my thighs. Maybe some aren't using the highest resistence to make a difference? It takes practice. That said, it usually kills my 40- something knees. Also I try to do more cardio that is weight bearing for my bones (treadmill yes but not so much elliptical or bike because it doesn't stress the bone enough).
If I have a good fashion mag in front of me, I can endure almost any machine!
20People hate the stationary bike? That is surprising cause spin classes are so popular at my gym! I like the stationary bike better than a regular bike.
21I get so bored with the bike but will do it for a short time and twitch things up. I really want to try a spin class sounds fun and difficult.. maybe in the New Year!!
22stairmaster. ew. I always skip it, and tell myself I compensate by adding bleacher runs to my routine. The right stationary bike (mainly, the ones used for spinning) I actually like, because it seats like a normal bike and helps me keep my butt conditioned to sitting like that when I can't ride outside all winter. But I think all the machines lack the beautiful scenery that makes long bike rides, runs, hikes or canoe trips so enjoyable.
23Stairmaster! Thirty seconds later and I'm breaking a sweat. I like ellipticals and the bikes. Spinning classes are popular at my gym. I feel like I'm actually doing something in the classes verses on my own.
24stepmill-barf!
25i think there's a difference between spinning and the stupid stationary bike... but i don't like either. and i don't love the stairmaster, but i had whiplash last week from a wreck i was in (i got hit) and had to use the stationary bike to not move much of my upper body, and i agree with the comment above, does nothing for me! i barely broke a sweat and i put it up on high levels... sigh. whatevs. i'm better now so it's back to my favorites.
26and fit, what is your workout routine? how come it'll be another few weeks til you get on the stairmaster again? you should share your fitness routine with us!!
27I said the rowing machine, because I don't ever feel like I have the proper form. No matter how conscious I try to be of it.
28My order is rowing machine, treadmill, bike (the gym I go to has this interesting set-up that simulates bike races and really pushes you), elliptical, and then the steppers.
29I'm surprised no one mentioned the treadmill...
I HATE the treadmill...with passion! It's so tough to anything on it for me!!!! VERY frustrating...although I'm trying to run 3 miles in 30 minutes. I get to about 2.3 miles...
30I hate the eliptical, I swear, no matter what I do, I am always going backwards. Also the stairmaster, but that is m yh own fault for being out of shape, hopefully soon I will be able to 20 mins on it atleast!!
31I really don't like the Arc Trainer...I think it's hard to get the hang of. I don't really know how bodies are supposed to mobilate on that thing. I think I just invented a new verb in all my griping
32I have done up to an hour on the stairclimber, but can't stand more than 10 minutes on the rower. It makes me feel car sick!
33Elliptical!
34I think my legs are too short for most stationary bikes & elliptical machines. The last time I used an elliptical machine I got tendinitis in my ankles.
35I hate treadmills mostly because I'm scared of them. I saw a girl fully faceplant on one of those after falling because she set the speed too fast. And knowing how uncoordinated I am, that could easily end up being me. I like running outside much better anyway.
36I LOVE running but hate treadmills. I get too bored on them. I run 2-3 miles every day, but now that it's cold outside, I've been confined to indoor running, which has turned into running laps since I get too bored on treadmills. Plus, I don't even feel like I'm really running when I'm on them, even when I put them on an incline. Sigh.
37The stairmaster is too killer for me. I'd rather just walk up some stairs over that machine!
38I've never used the bike & I never plan on it! It looks completely useless & looks like you would get no such work out - especially on the one that is reclined! You might as well be sitting on the couch watching tv!!! HA!
39I love the elliptical though - It's nice and easy on my joints!
I used to be a treadmill junkie - And will still use it when there is no elliptical around, but after a while of using it, it hurts my knees & feet!
