New Year's Eve is here and most of us (me included) will be popping open a bottle of bubbly in celebration tonight. I'm not saying don't enjoy it, but before you drink the whole bottle check out this simple breakdown so you know how many calories you're consuming per glass.
| 1 Glass of Champagne (4.1 fl. oz) | 91 calories |
| 1 Bottle of Champagne (25.4 fl. oz) | 495 calories |
So what is to be learned from this simple breakdown? Everything in moderation is OK, just don't over do it. By drinking just one or two glasses of champagne you'll be saving yourself from unnecessary calories, and not to mention a horrible hangover.
Fit's Tip: Be safe tonight and if you do decide to have a glass (or three) of champagne, please do not drink and drive.

I really like champagne, but I try not to drink more than one or two glasses of it. I drank a whole bottle a few New Year's Eves ago and was not feeling so hot afterwards...a horrible hangover indeed.
1My boyfriend got us a fancy room facing the fireworks, complete with champagne and things. He isn't a drinker, so..
2I think the secret is to get good bubbly, so you have to sip it slowly and savor it. We got a Spanish cava for New Year's.
3it pays off to be a lightweight drinker - I couldn't down more than two glasses if I wanted to!
4Wow I didn't realize how caloric champagne was. Almost 100 calories in 4 oz? Looks like I'll be sticking to a limit of 2 glasses. Either way, I'm not going to a party...I'm watching New Years Rockin Eve hahaha
5Not a huge champagne fan...
6I don't drink anything less than a $60 bottle of Bollinger.
For tonight we have a bottle of very nice organic champagne. At Christmas we had "Pol Roger" (Winston Churchill) champagne.

I get trashed in style.
7I don't care for champagne. I will probably be drinking my favorite...vodka and Fresca
And my husband doesn't like anything but beer, so he'll probably be drinking Budweiser or something. Neither of us plans on getting trashed though.
8Happy New Years everyone!
9I'm what they call drunkarexic - not as terrible as it sounds...
10It just means that if I decide to drink half a bottle of champus (or red or white or whatever), I don't eat so much for dinner. It's not a nice thing to do to your body, as it needs it's nutrient (not too many vitamins in wine), but once in a while...
I don't know - what do you guys think?
Me 2 TinkyMinky! I used to have a whole bottle for dinner a couple times a week a while back. Good times!
11Its ok to drink champagne! Even a whole bottle! 495 calories isn't bad... just make sure you dont eat anything else all day:)
12or just vegetables
Rafael Benitez is not a man given to displays of outward emotion and yesterday the Liverpool manager gave the lie to any notion that he is any more effusive in private. The biggest problem with his many successes, he said, was persuading his wife, Montse, not to "waste" money on expensive bottles of champagne.

14The champagne serving size and calories don't scale from a glass to a bottle. If the rest of the information is correct, there are 564 kcals in a bottle of champagne.
15wussies.... live it up or drop dead from inhumanity.. 500 calories is nothing if you EAT RIGHT!
