Looking for a quick and healthy meal? Bowls from Amy's Kitchen are a great choice. I loved the Stuffed Pasta Shells and the Country Cheddar Bowl. Both dishes are made mostly with organic ingredients, so when you eat them you can feel good about supporting a company that does good for you and the environment.

I just picked up a new bowl from Amy's Kitchen called Pesto Tortellini. Want to know what I thought? Then read more

Unfortunately, this wasn't my favorite dish from Amy's Kitchen. It lacked flavor, and I needed to add a little salt. The pasta did have a satisfying soft and chewy consistency. All in all I'd have to say that this meal was just okay, and definitely not as delicious as other bowls by Amy.
The saturated-fat content is a little high, and if you're trying to watch your carb intake, you won't be too psyched with 45g per serving. I guess that's what you'd expect from a cheesy-pasta dish though. This Pesto Tortellini Bowl is great if you need a quick meal and you're in the mood for some comfort food. It's definitely warm and filling, and perfect for a Winter evening. Although it wasn't my favorite frozen entrée, it would definitely do in a pinch.

The picture on the front of the food thign looks good, but your picture doens't really look like it...
1eck. is their picture photoshoped or something???...yours looks gross.
2Usually Amy's products are really good, but that looks gross in the bowl!!
3Pesto exposed to the air for a long time turns a brown color. i just bought that one and the cheesy ravioli from costco the have a 4 pack for under $12.00 and I thought that one was just o.k. the ravioli was way better
4Amy's is so hard to find where I live. Every store has about 5 items to choose from (frozen only).
This looks yummy!
5Amy's mac and cheese is the best. try it!
6Wow, the picture on the box is practically neon!
7Yeah, I got excited about this one a while back when I first saw it. It definitely wasn't as good as it looked. Fortunately, most all of their other products are really delicious.
8I like this meal a lot. Your photo looks a little slimy - mine is usually drier. Maybe I microwave it longer?
9I love Amy's dinners. My favorite is the tofu lasagna. Whenever I take it to work for lunch, my co-workers all rave about the delicious smell. When they try it they can't believe it's tofu.
10Hmmmm not sure on this one...
11I love Amy's frozen foods and soups. To me, the ones that taste the best are the vegan dinners. Amy's tamale pie rocks! Low calories, low fat, provides lots of energy and is very tasty - one of my favorite breakfast meals.
12Since I'm not much of a cook, I eat more frozen meals than I should lol. I never feel bad about eating anything from Amys bc/ I know the meals are made of organic and natural ingredients. The pesto torellini's are one of my favs!
13scrumptious!
14Yes ladies pasta is always good, like any other starch dishes. However, you have to really pay attention to how much starch you eat. If you want to loose weight a little quicker, then you'd better reconsider getting a second helping of it. Starch keeps you on a stand still. it's where you don't look weight as you did before!
Trust me, it's not good!
15I love these pesto tortellini bowls. I mean, clearly, they are not going to be as good as whipping up some fresh tortellini and homemade pesto, but they are a quick and delicious pick!
16Hmm I'm glad I read these posts cos I had given up on Amy's after trying this dish. The pesto tortellini had no flavor at all! I'll have to try the others.
17Euuggh that looks nasty!
18sorry...
That pic you took does not do the dish justice. This is one of my all-time favorite Amy's frozen dishes. I haven't had it in so long because it is so carby and cheesy, but it's a delicious comfort dish for me.
19I love Amy's products. But for frozen entrees like this I always add lots of veggies. For lunches at work I just put a variety of frozen veggies (whatever I have on hand: broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke hearts, peas, edamame, whatever) in a Ziploc/Gladware steam bag. Steam and then add to the frozen entree.
Adds volume, fiber and nutrients.
20When I cooked the dish, I found they looked just like the tortellini in the pic, however, it was just so tasteless.
21I agree. The tortellini was actually the first Amy's dish I tried and I'm glad I didn't give up. Everything else I've had has been amazing (especially the Mac and Soy Cheeze and her Pizzas) but the tortellini was pretty bland and even though I microwaved it according the the package, it got a little mushy.
22That's strange, because the pesto tortellini is actually one of my favorite Amy's bowls. It could be because I LOVE pesto though. But I practically lived off this (and other Amy's bowls) last year in the dorm...
23Amy's makes a lot of good products...I've never had this one.
24haha i agree with all the comments on the color. one looks like a yucky green color while the other is neon green. Im not sure which is more appetizing.
25Wow, i wonder if they've changed the recipe since this review was posted? Because mine came out looking almost identical to the picture on the box, and was absolutely divine! Seriously, one of the best non-homemade pestos I've ever had.
