Last month we went over the signs and symptoms of realizing when a stomach ache may require a visit to the doctor. And just recently we reviewed when to seek medical attention for earaches. Since cold and flu season is upon us, I figured it would be good to also highlight the signs and symptoms of when a sore throat may require a visit to the doctor.
- Sore throat that comes on rapidly
- Difficulty swallowing
- Headaches
- Fever, sometimes greater than 102° F
- A raw, red appearance to the back of the throat
- White pus on tonsils

Awww sore throats suck
1I hate when I get one! But since I have really tried to stop smoknig, my throat is feeling better
Oh, I get sucha BAD sore throat when the winds pick up. I live in Southern CA, so the Santa Ana winds are KILLER....I just pop a claritin and it clears up after about 2 days.
2goodness being sick is the worst!
3How about ways to cure a sore throat? Every year without fail, I get a HORRIBLE throat issue (lost my voice for a week one year, had pus-covered tonsils the next) and I'd REALLY like to avoid that this year, especially since I'm not insured at this point...
