Every time you walk into Moe's, without a doubt, you are always greeted by the entire staff with a happy "Welcome to Moe's."
I went in there the other day because I was on the road and needed to eat. I thought I'd order a cheese quesadilla, because it'd be the safest item on the menu.
But Moe's isn't like other fast food joints - really it isn't. When you order, you get to watch the people make your food, so there's no "special" ingredients being added. They make all their own salsa and guacamole from scratch from actual vegetables.
Their beans are homemade everyday - using veggie broth- not lard. In fact, right smack dab on their menu it states "we don't use animal fat or lard." All their meat is cooked on one grill, and the veggies and tofu (yup, they have tofu) are cooked on a separate grill.
Fit's Tips: If you're counting calories or watching your weight, it's easy to figure out exactly what you're eating. Right on Moe's website, you can choose anything on the menu, including any toppings you want added or removed, and it configures the nutritional info for you. Just click on Nutrition at the bottom.

Welcome to Moe's - ha ha ha. They really do say that EVERYTIME you walk in. I'll admit it - I love Moe's for a quick meal when I'm NOT on the road.
1my husband did a fund raiser for his school last night where he worked at Moe's....he didn't smell very good when he came home...
2Haha I just ate there for lunch today!! Even though they don't use animal fat, most of their foods are high in calories -- I got the Close Talker salad, with tofu, and it came out to under 300 calories
3ok is it weird that i have never heard of moes?!
4I hav ea place I like more than Moes now....Chipotle. They use free range, vegetarian fed chicken, pork and beef...you can watch what they put in your food...their guac is chunky and delish....a little spicier than moes and they don't have quesadillas.....I only go to chipotle now and I suggest everyone try it too!!!!
I'm all in.
5i absolutely LOVE moes! and honestly the kids meal is enough for me. (they say only 12 and under but they always make an exception!) and its under 250 calories! oh and try the guacatilla salsa. amazing! good pic, sugar.
6i want to try that place, my sister always bring home stuff from there.
7I ate Chipotle so much for a couple years that I can't go there much now...its is really good food though.
8The chicken that Chipotle uses is kinda sketchy though... I can't look at it while I'm eating it. It's like, gray and brown.
9WELCOME TO MOES! I love moes. A burrito is like 2.5 meals. I never finish one in a single sitting....well not that I'll admit to.
10Is Chipotle a chain like Moe's? I've never heard of it till now.
11I've never heard of it either until like two weeks ago, and now I'm hearing about it ALL over the place.
12kevindineen - That's a good idea to split your meal up. Those burritos are way too big for one sitting. I like to pre-cut it before you I start eating, so I don't start working on the other half...
13We have one here. I've never eaten there yet but, it sounds really good, and healthy. Thanks fitsugar.
14Qdoba is like this too....they make everything right in front of you and you can pick exactly what to put on it.
15Oh thanks, Jenna. One of those just opened nearby and I was wondering what it was!
16DEFINETLY try it......sooooooo good
17JennaV - I'll have to check it out.
18There is a menu on their website, too!

We have a Chipotle here, but I don't eat at it anymore because I heard that it is owned by McDonald's. I don't support Mickey D's or any other fast food chain, even places like Chili's and Outback are off limits for me!!!
20This sounds like Fire + Ice, but with Fire + Ice you choose which ingredients you want from an "ingredient bar" of sorts and they too cook it right in front of you. There's only four of them in the country, and three of them are in New England, BUT if you're ever in Lake Tahoe, CA, they have one there too. the website is www. Fire-Ice . com

21I LOVE CHIPOTLE. It may be owned by McDonalds, but the food is fresh, and always filling. Plus they have the awesome nantucket nectars for a drink, and they dont freeze their salsas like other places. They are opening one closer to me than the one that is an hour from my house, and I am so excited! I recommend it more than QDOBA or Moes, or any other Burrito Place.
22I've never heard of Moes, and no wonder. There aren't any in my area unfortunately. I'm always down for trying new, healthier restaurants. Looks like I'll be missing out on this one.
23McDonald's at one time invested in Chipotle in 1998, and grew to be there largest investor, to turn their 15 restaurants into over 500. But now McDonald's has sold all of it's stock.
24never heard of moe's either. but i have heard of chipotle and how amazing it is, though i've never tried it. ARE there any moe's in southern california? orange county, to be specific?
25I like Moe's more than Chipotle because they use brown rice! You can also get your burrito 'naked' so without the tortilla, you are saving calories and carbs!
Gotta Eat at Moe's!!!
26YAHOO! LOVE MOE'S!!! For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's like Chipotle, Qdoba or Machismo...Machismo offers soy sour cream, brown rice and tofu. I def recommend the Veggie Quesadilla at MOE'S! Ummm...I'm getting hungry!

I forgot another one: Baja Fresh.

28Qdoba has the best nachos!!! They're so bad for you, but every once in a while it's ok. Waaaaay better than Moe's nachos!
29Qdoba Chicken Queso Burrito...
30Qdoba is my new fave since I overdid Chipotle... their queso is the best!
31Yes their queso is to die for!!
