Jordin Sparks has always seemed very grounded to me. Even after seeing her at the AMAs I am still convinced that she has yet to let the pressures of Hollywood get to her — and here's to hoping she never does! Jordin sat down with OK Magazine to talk about being stick-thin, exercising, and eating turkey.

Here are highlights:
How do you cope with the pressure to be stick-thin?
I really think that Hollywood needs to get over that. I’m just saying! I kind of thought it was really dumb before, anyway, before I got into all this. I’m still the same. I’m not going to change just because you have this image of somebody and how they need to look, because I will never look like that. I would probably fall over if the wind blew if I was that skinny. I can’t help it. I love food and I love my curves. I’m very strong-willed and I’m stubborn in that sense to where I’m just like "no, I won’t be that way." I definitely do like exercise. I like to eat right. It’s all about being healthy. The stick-thin thing, I’m kind of just like "not gonna do it" and I couldn’t.Do you follow a special diet and exercise regimen?
Well, before the show started and before the tour, because everything has been so crazy, I’ve kind of been out of it for awhile. Before I was hiking the mountain every morning and I was going to spin class every night. It was all about portion control. I was trying to do portion control but it’s kind of hard to do that because I need a little more self-discipline than I have. [Laughs] I eat salads, steaks and good stuff, and I’m trying to cut out soda but it’s kind of hard. That’s what I was doing, and I’m trying to get back into it. Since everything has been so crazy and sometimes I don’t really have time to go out and drive to the gym, I’ll just do some sit-ups in my room, jump rope in my room a little bit, to get that cardio in, and then just trying to eat right. I’m trying to get back into it.
There's more, including how she plans on staying in shape during the holidays so read more
During the holidays when you’re eating all this great food, is there anything special you do to stay in shape?
Sadly, no, because just from past years, all I want to do is have a good time and not have to worry about it, but I'm going to have to this year. I think I’ll be at home, so I’ll probably hike the mountain in the morning and my aunt is a trainer up at the gym. If she’s still doing that, I’ll probably go up there with her and do spin class again.

I feel bad for celebs that aren't stick-thin b/c they get asked about their weight so often. It's got to be annoying. But, I do hope that she and some others begin a new trend to step away from the stick-thin thing that's going on.
1First, I think her quote about just wanting to have a good time during the holidays is great! So real and honest. However, I have a hard time believing that she hiked every morning and spinned every night. Especially if she's supposedly eating right. It's not so much that she looks bad -- it's just that I would think she'd be a lot thinner and toned if she did all that. Strange.
2She seems so genuine and down-to-earth.
3She reminds me a lot of America Ferrara (if that's how you spell her name). I mean like they could be sisters.
4I agree, greenskittlesgal. If she was doing all that exercise, she would be thinner. But she doesn't look bad. If she was eating right too, she'd be thinner.
5i hope she sticks with what she's sayin - they all say that in the beginning and then end up rail thin....
6Good for her. i hope she sticks to her guns and prevails in the sick stick thin image hollywood has.
7Great attitude to have...
8If a thin celeb said they hiked mountains and did a spin class every night, people would say that's way too much exercise and that the celeb was weight-obsessed.
9i'm so glad someone else recognized that dichotomy, puddinpie.
we won't go into everyone's favorite "health at every size" debate, but i will say that i am so glad jordin has a healthy, intelligent view of herself. here's hoping she maintains it.
10I'm sorry but the 'oh she's mentally healthy' crap is just that. Come on -- stars have the money and the time to be lean and healthy, notice I said lean. That's all they DO with their days, they don't go to the office 9-5. Who wants to see a plump movie star -- Jordin or even someone like Vince Vaughn?? Yuck.
11who wants to see a plump movie star? Wow. who wants to see a plump person at the mall or the grocery store or anywhere in public then? Maybe all the fat people should all stay shut up in home then so you won't be offended. Not every person in Hollywood is paid to be pretty. Some of them actually look normal. And how do you know what they do with their time? Maybe they read books, maybe they hang out with friends, maybe they have lives just like the rest of us. I'm sure a lot of them have agents that make them book time for working out just because of the whole image thing, but I say more power to those who can have a life that's not based solely on their looks, and had more to do with their actual talent. Jordin is a beautiful girl, and very talented. Vince Vaughn is effin hilarious even with a beer gut.
12I think she's so beautiful and so smart. Go Jordin!
13GreenSkittlesGal-
Actually everyone is built different. So no matter how much u work out ur body may not change, but ur still losing the weight and the calories.
I think being stick-bone thin in hollywood is getting so old. Jordin is beautiful. & for those ppl who are always criticizing those who aren't a size 0, or 2, have worse body images issue of their own. When u point out something wrong from someone, u are really just pointing out those things wrong with u!
14By asking "wants to see a plump movie star" there is an insinuation that being "plump" is somehow not attractive and is unattractive. Sorry, but some people actually think that being a bit larger (read- average) is just as or more attractive than a gaunt, curveless body. So, to answer your question, luckystarr, I want to see plump movie starts. And Jordin isn't a movie star (yet), PS.
15I agree with LavitaBella. I exercise every day and used to do it like 2 hours a day and I eat right, every thing in moderation and I really cannot be smaller than a 12. Granted I'm 5'10, but I'd still be considered "plump" in Hollywood and that's a huge load of crap. If she were working out like she says and really restricting her calories THEN she could change her shape, but that's unhealthy and messing with what she has, which, in my opinion, is a very nice shape.
16With a health self-perception, positive attitude and SMART goals in her approach to health and wellness, Jordin Sparks is a role model to young women who have curves. It is unrealistic, and down-right ridiculus, for Hollywood to paint the image that being a beautiful woman means being rail thin. Skinny does not mean healthy! As a society we need to focus on having a healthy balanced lifestyle, especially since obesity is such an epidemic in the U.S.
17It's going to take people like Jordin, America, and Sara Ramirez to get people to realize that you don't have to be a size 2 or 4 to be healthy and beautiful. I mean, look at Carrie Underwood. She was a 6 when she was on "Idol", then she "made it" and now she's a 2. Evidently a size 6 isn't even good enough anymore.
18I also feel bad for celebrities that aren't superskinny because they get grilled constantly about their weight and whether or not they're going to slim down. That only creates the impression that the weight they're at is somehow not a good one. How sad is that? Some people really just can't get that skinny...I know that I can't ever healthfully be really skinny because of my bone structure and muscle mass. I'm glad Jordin is defending her weight and showing everyone that you can be healthy at any size.
