Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It is just about family, good food, and good friends and no other agenda. The only problem is that we all tend to gorge on that good food. So to get you thinking about how to deal with the mass consumption on T-day, I wrote up a little quiz for ya!
1 of 3Question 1

Dorothy Perkins
Alexander Wang
Lee Angel
Holy cow! This is BAD.
1That's disgusting. I did NOT need to know that
2Who cares? It's one meal!
3Like mtiger said, one day a year isn't gonna kill you! I plan to enjoy it, try not to overstuff myself, and go for a walk afterward.
4Now I'm off to make my Amazingly tasty but horrible for you pumpkin cheesecake
haha
0/3. Hmm. Ah well. I'm just going to eat and enjoy the food. In moderation of course.
52/3-this is the one day I giev calorie counting the boot!
6I agree- it's ONE meal!
7I don't understand how it is possible to eat 3000 calories at all?? I mean don't you feel really really full after a 1000 calories meal??
8Oh well, it's once a year! Enjoy yourself and your time surrounded by the ones you love and cherish!
9It's once a year. I never pig out, but I do try every dish.
10i will run in the morning before eating. that way i don't have to feel guilty for pigging out!!
11i love thanksgiving, calories, fat, extra running, and all.
12Holy cow that means you'd gain a pound just from that one meal. Ya not worth it.
13I ran the Philly Marathon on Sunday and I'm running a 5K Thursday morning... so I'll use that as my excuse for eating a lot!
14This morning on the Today show, they said that Americans eat an average of 5,000 calories on Thanksgiving.
15I agree with everyone its once a year. Enjoy all the wonderful food and worry about all that another day.
16I just wonder what is meant by "the average thanksgiving day meal" in terms of portion size. We all know all sorts of things that are "thanksgiving food" but how much? Which ones? This term is so vague.
17That is so disgusting. I never take seconds and skip dessert. Not worth it. I make low calorie options.
18Um, is it wrong to say it wasn't as bad as I was expecting?
19I underestimated the food numbers and I overestimated the exercise numbers. I got all three wrong! Well I say 'tis the season of eating. Make good choices, but let's not deprive ourselves here; it's only one time each year!
20Wow. That's kinda nasty.
21Doesn't upset me since I don't like most things (pie included). I'm pretty much just gonna eat some turkey with gravy and a salad.
22The Today Show mentioned the average caloric intake for Thanksgiving was 5000. Either way, it's a lot!
23Well, if it takes 4 hours to burn off Thanksgiving dinner, perhaps families can muster up the energy to engage in some fun activities like putting up holiday decorations, turning on the music and dancing, or my favorite - playing with the Wii! Since many of us will forget about calories and fat on Turkey day, this may be a better way to approach life after the feast.
24I agree with everyone that we should relax and enjoy the food for 1 day but the problem is that consumption of fatty foods is linked to too many holidays! It seems impossible to get through the holidays without having to eat SO much unhealthy food and sugary cakes and it sucks having to justify your healthy habits to everyone just because you're not going to poison your body with sugar and junk just "because its the holidays"!
25OMG i scored 0% on that test!!!
263000 calories in one meal???
running for 4 hours to burn it off???
that is just too scary...
WOOOO HOOOOO I got them ALL wrong!
27It's a god thing I'm in Puerto Rico and totally passing on all the thanksgiving food. Gimme some mofongo!
Is everyone ready for post-New Year's weight loss commercials? because the cause of them starts...NOW!
28Got 'em all wrong.. but seriously, 3000 calories per meal??
29good lord...3000?!?! i KNOW i don't eat that much...that's why i load up on white meat and veggies, leaving only a little room for the bad stuff.
30oh my god and i weigh 99pounds........... which means i have to exercise for.. 8 hours haha
31And I was planning on skipping Thanksgiving altogether until I had the plate in my hand and my school's luxurious all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving dinner facing me.
Oh well. This is my last semester and I'll never have some of these dishes again since my family's Hispanic, Thanksgiving never had sweet potato mush, stuffing or any pies before. I gave in.
32Only 4 hours?! The average person must not have eaten what I ate!!
