Consumers in the U.S. Southwest are being warned that Jamba Juice Co. smoothies containing strawberries may be contaminated with the potentially deadly Listeria monocytogenes bacterium (commonly known just as Listeria), which can cause potentially deadly infections in children, the elderly and other people with weakened immune systems. It is also known to cause still births and miscarriages in pregnant women.
While there have been no reports of illness, the smoothie maker has stopped shipments from the supplier of the contaminated strawberries as well as removed all strawberries supplied by that company.

Dang that is scary. What is going on with our food? Is it the fertilizer or what?
1i love jamba juice! shoot, that is crazy..
2I heard about this 2 hours ago. America used to have the cleanest food source in all the world. Now, it's a completely different story. Due to the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), food is being imported from 3rd world countries that lack hygienic standards, and use rudimentary fertilization systems that are often contaminated with human waste, and other farming by-products. This is what globalization is doing to America. I don't know where Jamba Juice buys their ingredients but, this is what is going on.
3First chicken, then spinach, now strawberries.....ay, yi, yi
