Feeling sleepy and rundown lately? You may not be getting enough iron. A woman needs 18 milligrams a day. Beef, chicken, and fish are great sources, but if you aren't big into those foods or a vegetarian, check out these eight sources that will help you meet your RDI.

Yes, I'll add to what a previous poster said. Spinach and other plants may have a high iron content, but that form of iron is not always easily absorbed by the body. Vitamin C does improve the uptake, so grab a glass of OJ or add some orange slices.

Blackstrap molasses and sesame seeds are also good sources of iron. Adding a little lemon juice when you eat iron-rich foods helps your body to better absorb the iron.

thanks for this. i'm a vegetarian and certainly lack iron. vitamin B is a big issue too. i took at look at vitamin B deficiencies and found birth control can be a factor... http://sweettater.wordpress.com/2009/08/25/birth-control-steals-your-vitamin-b/
