If you're not looking to gain any weight between Thanksgiving and Jan. 1, 2008, then take this into consideration.
Eating 88 extra calories per day between Thanksgiving and Jan. 1 will most likely leave you one pound heavier by 2008 — that's like eating just over three Hershey's Kisses (or a quarter of a slice of pumpkin pie) a day.

This post made me sad.
1I think the best thing you can do during a holiday is not to skip your workout cause if you eat more AND skip your workout then it is so difficult to get back to the real life after your holiday.
2I actually always exercise MORE when I am on holiday cause I motivate myself by thinking that if I am able to work out 4-6 times a week during my usual busy weeks with work, kids etc... then I should definitely have time to workout more during a holiday!
My last holiday was one week and I began everyday with a morning run and the afternoon I would do something active with the kids like playing tennis or so. I didn't put on one ounce of weight though I was eating out everyday and drinking more.
So really my advice is that it is OK to allow yourself a sensible amount of extra treats during your holiday as long as you don't skip your workout and try and be active!
Guess you're right Ella! I'ma have to step it up a notch...cuz what's the point in holidays w/o all the holiday goodies! Looking at Yumsugar's posts makes me gain weight I think!
3I also think it's natural to gain a few pounds. C'mon, this is the coldest time of the year and our bodies tell us to eat heartier things so we can stay warm. I don't freak out if I gain a few over the holidays because I know it's rather natural.
4Yeah, one pound? That's not a big deal. My weight fluctuates all the time! I agree with Ellabella, though. Since there is so much food to eat around this time, it's so important to stick with your exercise plan!
5Thanks for the tip! I was getting ready to go in search of a mid-morning snack, but realized there are these pants I want to fit into for my boyfriend's company's Christmas party, so that's not the best idea...
6This calorie thing makes no sense to me...I've been eating less calories for about a month, exercising 6 days a week, and doing only a little weight training but heavy cardio/yoga/pilates and I GAINED weight....huh?
7ahhh the holiday's
