Have you ever brought a box of Cheez-Its to the couch with you while you watch TV and realize an hour later that you've eaten the whole box? Yeah, me neither (wink, wink).

This is the classic case of mindless snacking without a predetermined portion size. If you're like me, and occasionally like to snack right from the box then try to stop this habit. Instead take out how much you want to eat, put it on a plate, and put the rest away. If you want more, then go back and repeat the process, but try to avoid eating right from the box. If we keep snacking right out of the box then we don't ever get a visual of how much we're actually eating until we get to the bottom and realize we've eaten the entire box.
