If you're like Reese and you like to run to blow off a little steam, you're not alone. Women are picking up the slack when it comes to running as a healthy past time.

There was a time when running was a man's work out choice and women would just hit the ellipticals or the local Curves. That time has since passed and woman are pulling ahead in the running trends. The National Sporting Goods Association reported:
...that the number of female casual runners rose by 13.6 percent between 1999 and 2004, outpacing their male counterparts by 6 percent.
This means that corporations, like Nike and New Balance are going to start focusing more on women when creating their gear and campaigns. Say goodbye to plain white sneakers and hello to bedazzled pink ones. You go girls!

1I can't run. It's too violent for me.
2Reese is so cute! I run six days a week! I love it! YaY for pink running shoes
3i cant run either blonde its hard on my knees(i shattered them both about 5 years ago)
4Um, OUCH! Shattered knees? That sounds extremley painful. Sorry to hear that. It just hurts my knees a lot, my boobs, my shins everything. Plus I have Asthma, so I don't even attempt anymore. I stick to what I know works for me.
5I'm not a runner either..I like to walk.
6SaRah 22, How did you shatter both your knees? I can't even fathom how painful that would be.
7i despise running! what's even better for women (who are more likely to have knee and hip pain/injuries) is SWIMMING. it's almost exactly the same as running. sure, it isn't as convenient as jogging, but it's so much better for your body. and, it's nice and cool. i make sure to get a gym membership to a place with an indoor pool.
8I love running! every day! kate225: swimming works the opposite muscles of running. running works hammies, quads, shoulder muscles, etc. Swimming concentrates on the more elongated muscles, like in the hip, the back/shoulder muscles, and abs. And actually, neither one is "better" for the body than the other. It depends on the intensity of the workout, the length of the time, your form, etc. They're apples and oranges.

9I've sprung my ankle in my ballet class. I'm going through a physical therapist on the 12th and then I'll be back on the pavement. YAY!
