This Country Cheddar Bowl is my new favorite frozen entrée from Amy's Kitchen. It's in her line of Bowls (just like the Stuffed Pasta Shells), and this one is called Country Cheddar.

I would say it is a mature version of mac and cheese. The delicious cheesy sauce envelops the spiral noodles and healthy veggies – broccoli florets, carrots, red peppers, and potatoes. For added protein pieces of perfectly textured baked tofu have been added to the "bowl." The cheddar bowl meal is deliciously flavored, and the best part is that all the ingredients are organic.
The picture on the box looks great, but does it really look like that when you cook it? To find out read more

On the looks front, the bowl looks close enough to the image on the box. I really liked the cheesy taste and all the veggies were cooked perfectly, and not at all mushy. This meal has only 400 calories and it was super filling. Plus I love that it has 14g of protein and 4g of fiber (although I thought it would have more than that). The sodium is a tad high, but not too bad considering you can have around 2,300mg a day.
I'm sure some of you will think it has a lot of fat, but look at the saturated fat. It only has 6g, and since the recommended amount per day is around 20g, it doesn't sound so bad. For a quick, delicious, organic, and healthy meal, I'd definitely give this Country Cheddar Bowl a try.

Organic mac and cheese is STILL mac and cheese, no matter how you look at it. It probably tastes pretty good, but it doesn't look particularly healthy or anything.
1No, it doesn't look all that healthy, even with the veggies! But I bet it tastes awesome!
Anything with cheese = yum!
2I'll pass...
3I just discovered the other day that Amy's does Indian food. Her Mattar Paneer is sooooooooooo good! And yes, it's still frozen and processed and not the healthiest thing in the world. But it's a heckuva lot better than some frozen, processed meals and I'm perfectly happy to settle for good-but-not-the-best every once in a while.
4I love EVERYTHING that comes out of the Amy's kitchen. It's easy, delicious, and most of the time it's really healthy!
Even when you indulge in the less-than-healthy options (mmm, Amy's Margherita Pizza!), it's still not as bad as ordering takeout or popping in a cheapass tv dinner!
5I just ate one of these for lunch, super yummy.
6I hate that so many frozen meals have bell peppers. They make me sick (literally!). The only thing I had found was the michealangelo's veggie lasagna and that recently disappeared from my grocery store!
But I love Amy's....esp their pizzas. The crust is so good!
7I think I've had this actual bowl before. It IS really good, and its a LOT of food, very filling. Yum!
8I love Amy's!!! I think her Tofu lasagna is the best. Not to mention that you cannot find a healthy baked pasta for the life of you at our meal hall and this one lets me indulge without feeling too guilty!
9Love Amy's! I will have to try that out. The calories are a bit high, but I love that there is so much protein in there!
10DROOL! That looks delicious! Healthful? No. But yummy!
11I LOVE Amy's!! The meatloaf is my absolute favorite, with the brown rice bowl coming in a close second. I just hate how expensive they are- they've topped $4 each at my closest grocery store.
12i love amy's too... i buy amy's mac n cheese
ill have to try this
13I love Amy's but they are SO super expensive! But they're absolutely delish and I have yet to buy one of their frozen meals and dislike it!
14this stuff is the bomb - so is her mac & soy cheese. i don't think any of her meals are low fat or anything, but surely they're a better choice than some other frozen dinners.
15I will probably store some in my dorm room.
