I just found out that today is Love Your Body Day.
Although it might be a little late in the day, you still have a few hours to love your body, and don't stop the love when the clock strikes midnight. Being kind to yourself is an important mindset to maintain.
The Love Your Body campaign was created by the National Organization for Women to expose the unrealistic beauty standards created by the media all around us. You know how it bothers me when I see how much cover girls, like Faith Hill, are photoshopped. NOW's campaign delves deeper into the beauty myth with their educational video and slide show The ABCs and Ds of Commercial Images of Women. It is definitely worth checking out.
So don't criticize your body, at least for the rest of the day! Remember, even Faith Hill doesn't look like cover girl Faith Hill!

I like hearing about this, too bad it wasnt advertized/publicized more, ya know? Could be a good thing.
I practice the self love everyday. I dont allow myself to get too down over my little belly or my arms feeling "too soft" - I always embrace my full thighs and big butt and the rest that comes with it. Im a woman, not a child and Im built like one.
Those chicks on the magazine covers dont represent *me* - and I keep that in the front of my mind.
Beauty comes in all sizes, everyone should believe that.

5I agree with Alisha_Stiletto what a shame that this is not more widely publicized. This is the first I have heard of this.
I think I will celebrate by taking my doggies for a nice long walk. Then I will go home and have a nice dinner with my husband who loves me even though I do not look like a photoshopped super model.
6I treated myself by eating my favorite, favorite cookie from my university cafe without guilt - and later, I'll go and treat my body to the gym, so I'll feel great for the rest of the day!
7I actually showed MY body love by taking the day OFF of running/working out. Lately, I've been putting in 70+ mile weeks and my legs were screaming for a day off, so I took one. It's back to the workouts tomorrow though.

9I took the day off from work -- finally! Then had an amazing Swedish massage. My body was dying for one one after my first half-marathon race this weekend! Then I had a yummy falafel lunch and took a nap. Now I'm doing laundry. hehe
10i wish i had known about this sooner! this is one of my favorite sorta-holidays ever!
today, i did a good sweaty workout courtesy of jillian michaels' raspy voice on dvd. then i took a long, awesome shower and slathered myself in body butter. ate a good dinner with protein, fruits and veggies.
and i had hershey's kisses truffles for dessert. ;D
