Jessica Biel continues to have one of the most wanted bodies in Hollywood. So when her trainer, Jason Walsh, tells Forbes a few things Jessica does to stay so fit, I am all ears.

Here's the deal:
Jason Walsh, the man responsible for Jessica Biel’s lingerie-clad body in this summer’s I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, says that maximizing any workout requires a mastery of the basics.
"Learn how to squat properly, crunch properly and how to do push-ups and pull-ups — two of the best upper-body exercises," he says. In addition to a weekly three-day cardio regimen, Biel spends three alternate days focusing on muscle development and toning by doing lunges, crunches, squats and core work.
Walsh suggests that beginners hire a trainer for a month or pick up a book like Core Performance by Mark Verstegen in order to learn the basics and understand how to avoid injuries.
Squats, crunches and push-ups might need to be added to my list of exercises I can't live without. Though I've got to say, I'm not sure pull-ups are in my cards, even if it means getting one step closer to getting Jess's bod.

Come on Fit, let's do pull ups! I'm in the process of getting there - it would be awesome to be the girl at the gym who can do pull ups, right?
1as an avid runner, i was always convinced that cardio would keep my body in shape. i have trouble maintaining the fit body i want though. it doesnt seem like jessica biel goes crazy with the cardio - only three days a week. should i be putting more emphasis on strength training?
2Pull-ups are awesome! There so satisfying, I'm getting close to being able to do them without assistance.
3Yes! Definitely! Especially being a runner you need to strengthen your muscles so you don't get injuries. Your body really needs both cardio and strength. I'd find a happy balance between the two if I were you. I run about 3 times a week and then do weight lifting about twice a week with two pilates classes (I consider it core strength training).
4I do weight trianing about 3 times a week and cardio 3 or 4 sometimes 5 (depending on how busy I am) and it's working GREAT so far
5Plus I'm gunno start pole-dancing classes soon which is garunteeed to whip me into shape!!!
justin timberlake's body isn't bad either...what does his personal trainer have to say?
6My goal is totally being able to do an unassisted pull-up, even though they are pretty much the bane of my existence! I mix cardio and strength training, but I do cardio six days a week (usually twice a day...triathlon training means I work out in every spare moment...it works for me!) and strength train 3 days and core work the other 3 days.
7I am in the process of working my way up to full pull-ups! Whoo hoo!
8Ashcwebb-I teach pole classes!!! AMAZING workout! You will love it!! Too bad you are not in Nashville or you could take them from me!
