When you are on the run and want to make sure you have enough energy for your run, reach for a Lara Bar.

These energy bars are chock full of goodness and have only a handful of ingredients - the most any bar has is 6. They are made from unsweetened fruits, nuts and spices. Each contain 1 1/2 servings of fruit and are generally around 200 calories. They are vegan. They are raw. They are kosher. They are tasty.
The bars are made from a base of dried dates so they are quite chewy and moist. Plus they come in a wide variety of flavors Lemon Bar, Cashew Cookie and Pecan Pie are my favorites. You can order them directly from the company from their website or use their handy on line store locator to find a retailer near you.
If you need an energy bar these are the real deal made from real food.

These bars are WONDERFUL. They taste great and are so wholesome. You can't go wrong with raw nutrition!
I like to alternate between these Lara bars and Luna bars.
1Protein bars sit like a rock in my belly after I eat them. Ugh, I hate them
2Blonde_ you may like the Lara bars then, b/c they aren't high protein. They're tasty.
3Thanks azucar. Don't you want it to be high in protein tho?
4Do they have any taste? When I try "energy" bars, I usually end up throwing half of it away because they have all the flavor of cardboard.
5These bars are so awesome. I can't stand Luna Bars or Pria or whatever -- they all taste like a chemistry set to me. But these are so good. Banana Cookie is my favorite. Our Whole Foods store carries every flavor.
6CC,
7they are really yummy. No cardboard flavor. I've only had the pecan pie one and the chocolate Mayabar. The Larabars and Mayabar/Jocolat usually have dates as their main ingredient, which is what you taste. Delicious in my book.

These are great!! They only have around 5 natural ingredients... No soy or whey protein crap LOL!! THe one I had to day was this:
8Cocoa Powder, Coconut, Almonds, Walnuts & Dates.. Yep that is it!! It was great.
These are RAW - that is what makes them special too! That means none of the stuff is cooked or dried above 118 degrees. THAT means that the bars are also full of enzymes that normally get cooked out of food - so they have an extra benefit. I like the cherry. Anyone tried the cashew?? That looks good to. They are hard to find though...
9Is it a good idea to eat a Larabar before jogging daily?
