I know we all have crazy schedules. One day we have to stay late at work for a meeting. The next day a workout time is usurped by an appointment for a haircut. Then we have a lunch meeting with some clients. Of course those all are very important activities that need to get done, but you can't just keep skipping your workout because of them.
Whether or not you're trying to lose weight, exercise should be a part of your weekly schedule. One thing that works for me is scheduling my workouts at the same time, three to five times a week. Noon is the perfect time for me because I have an hour off for lunch and can eat at my desk afterwards. Maybe 7 a.m. works well for you because you never have early meetings. Or maybe your workout may have to wait until after work at 6 p.m., or even later until after you put your kids to bed.
You need to pick a time that you can easily stick to. A time that can't be overtaken easily by something else. This half hour to an hour time slot is just as important as your other appointments you may have. So be sure to schedule your workouts during times you are always free.
Fit's Tips: If you are going to exercise during work, talk to your co-workers and boss about your "workout appointments." It's common courtesy to make sure it's OK with them, and it'll also let them know that you aren't available at that time.

Mine is always RIGHT AFTER work...sometimes on weekends...but most of the time no...
1It's so hard once we turn the clocks back, it gets dark out so early and walking outside at night, ummmmm no thanks.
I guess back to the gym for me.
2i hate to even say it, but 6:30 am is the time that works for me. Any other time and something else can get in the way.
3This is something that I have had to remind myself of lately. I am not going to let my job interfere with my health. (It has become my mantra).
4When stress drives me to the candy dish, or when I slack on a workout because I am just too tired from all the OT at work, I remind myself that I am letting my job take priority over my health...and that's no good. There isn't enough compensation in the world to exchange for a healthy body.
I work out before work, but sometimes if I oversleep, I'll work out on my lunch break. Once, I was jumping rope during my lunch break and my boss came out to have a cigarette and he saw me jumping rope and told me to stop! I told him I was on lunch and he left me alone. I guess I should have asked him before, but I figure if I'm not getting paid during that time, how is jumping rope any different than running an errand or going for a cigarette break??
5that is sooooo weird that he would tell you to stop. tell him that you're just trying to lower the companies health care costs on your free time, "and what are you doing?"
6i run every morning as soon as i wake up. since i'm still in college and often schedule my classes later in the day, i have the luxury of not waking up until around 9am, so exercising in the morning isn't an issue for me the way it is for some people. i've gotten so used to this lax schedule over the past couple of years, i can't imagine how i forced myself to exercise after having to wake up at 6am and being in school all day during high school. not to mention the fact that i am already starting to dread the idea of having to give these "late" morning workouts up once i graduate and get a real job.
for the women who work out during their lunch breaks, how do you do it? i couldn't see an hour being enough time to exercise and clean up afterwards. what sorts of workouts do you do? do you shower afterwards (if so, where?) i'm curious.
7when i workout in the morning i am very tired to study, i think i have to start workin out in evenings
8i always work out right after work.. between 5 - 7 ... sometimes i go for a little tan beforehand.. but i always go after work.. and i try not to go home first.. if i go home first.. im done lol.. i hate gettin home and gettin comfortable and then leaving again.. i loose all motivatioN!
9I used to go to the gym after work, but now that I am back in school taking night classes, I have been majorly slacking. I bit the bullet and decided to start getting up earlier and going to the gym when it opens at 5:30 am. This is only the second week I have been doing it but so far so good! I love knowing that my workout is done by the time I get to work and I don't have to feel guilty about plans I have after work!
10I try going for a walk during my lunch break with some friends that way I can gossip and excersize at the same time. I also try to fit some in after dinner and I can watch t.v while im on the cross trainer!
