As the weather gets a little chillier, you may not need an entire jacket to keep you warm. But you may need more than a sweatshirt vest. That's the beauty of a down vest; it keeps your torso warm and your arms free. You just don't get too hot or sweaty.

I am loving the Nuptse vest by North Face. Want to hear more about it and see the other colors it comes in? Then read more
It's filled with high-loft down that insulates like nothing else, keeping you warm by trapping your body heat. It has two pockets on the outside to warm up your fingers if they get cold; plus the vest has an internal zippered pocket to hold your cell phone or keys. You can adjust the bottom hem with a cinch cord. So if the wind is blowing, you can pull it snug against your body.
The outside has DWR finish, which makes it waterproof. I love that this vest zips all the way up to your chin, keeping your neck protected and warm. Check out the great colors it comes in: Black, Brownie, Jewel Blue, Spice Red, White and Foam Green. It's definitely worth buying, since you can wear it all winter as a great layer under a waterproof shell or over a fleece. Order it from backcountry.com for $124.95.

3Love down vests...I have a pale pink one with faux fur trim and a super-warm reversible one from L.L. Bean. Love them both and I DO think they can be just as warm as a jacket if you're layered up underneath.
4I have this!
5I think it's really cute! Im guessing it's worth the money considering the brand.
