Um - runs and hides in a corner - I live in LOUISIANA! People need to move. How can you only do LESS THAN 10 minutes A WEEK of physical activity. What lazy bums I live with, huh?

I am in Georgia! It doesn't surprise me that we made the sedentary list. I agree though, how can a person do less than 10 mins of physical activity a week? Do they never leave their beds? I would go crazy.

Woohoo for Wisconsonites! I am surprised by that, however, we do hunt a lot up here.

I am really surprised that NY is only light blue. I would think that they would be darker blue at least for walking.

Fit: do you know if this survey counted physical activity as something that you don't do normally, such as walking for NY-ers? Because then that would make sense.

Syako - same here! Maybe it's a food+heat combo? All I can say is that I groaned, but wasn't all that surprised, to see my state in the dark pink category.

LOL Syako...speaking of being fat! J/K....It's funny that COLD states, people move more! You'd think they'd be holed up not wanting to exercise, lol.

California needs MORE nutrition help though.

I'm from Kentucky and considering most of the people I know are overweight, I can definitely believe it. It's truly sad. In fact, they all look at me as if *I* am the one who is weird for working out 6 days per week.

Hmm, I thought Californians would be at least in the top 5. Ah well. At least we made the top 10 of most active. Beaches, mountains, rivers, deserts, we have it all out here and can do most things at any time of the year. Yay!! Can't wait until spring for river rafting!

Alaska doesn't suprise me -- I moved here two years ago and this state has made me an outdoorsy-wild woman! I hike to the top of crazy-hard mountains, run every other day, sail, fish... just because it's the lifestyle up here. Woot woot, Alaska!

WHATTT? i go to school in virginia.. and outside of the college town pretty much 99% of the people are overweight. new jersey seems to be much fitter then virginia, but maybe thats just because I live by the beach and poeple know they'll have to be in bikinis for 4 months out of the year.

Yay for Wisconsin!!!! I'm actually kind of surprised that we made the top ten, but I guess a lot of people around here DO hunt, fish, ski, bike, etc. I'm surprised that a lot of the warm weather states are so inactive. If I didn't have to deal with winter, I think I'd be a LOT more active. I hate running in the snow.
