People will go to any lengths to lose a little weight and one of the more unusual methods gaining popularity recently is by means of hypnosis. Lily Allen used hypnosis for weight loss, and it's apparently helped her drop about four dress sizes, and it got her to want to go to the gym. Lily said:
"After the hypnotism, I want to go to the gym every day, otherwise I feel really bad. I just want to get more toned and healthy. I'm really good about everything at the moment — I've never been happier."
Allen does look great these days, but I am still wondering why she didn't ask the hypnotist to get her to stop smoking too?
Sound interesting? Then check out The Zen of Thin for more info on hypnotism and weight loss. If you've had your own experience with weight loss and hypnotism I'd love to hear, so share them in the comments section below.

My mother has been going to hypnotherapy for weight loss for about 9 months now. She really enjoys it and has lost 30 lbs so far. I've listened to her tapes, and I don't really think it's for me. I like the challenge of keeping myself on task, that way I don't get stuck needing something to keep me going other than me. My mother can't really exercise due to some physical ailments, so this I guess really just helps her keep in check what goes in the mouth.
1FOUR dress sizes?!?!? was she that big before?
2How old is Allen?
3She's 21 and she was a 12 on the bottom, 10 on top. She's now an 8, and these are British dress sizes, which are smaller than American. She was kind of my heroine for a while, and I'm happy that she is getting healthy, but disappointed that she succumbed to the weight loss machine when she looked fine in the first place.
Why did I immediately click on that hypnotherapy link, though? God, the things we do to be thin.
4My mom also lost a lot of weight through hypnosis, and she was skeptical at first. I think it's really great for changing your eating habits; the hypnotist would tell her things like "stop eating when you are full" and "leave some food on your plate." She always did -- it was sort of freaky -- but it definitely helped break her cycle of overeating.
5I read that shes now a size 2, american. thats small!
6wow she is very thin!!
7I think she simply stopped drinking and drugging because of her recent and frequent run-ins with the law and poof the bloat and munchies went away and her energy came back. She can call it whatever she likes but she went to "Rehab".
8She looks good. I guess the hypnosis works but I doubt it'd work for me. I can't get under hypnosis for some reason. Guess that means more effort on my part to lose weight
haha
9so disappointed in her- i thought she was perfect before
10haha I have the Zen of Thin CD's, and I have never used them! But maybe I should???
11wohooooooooo this is very interesting, indeed
12so as some of you know, and some of you dont..i was in an accident 3 years ago and now have this wierdo nerve condition which i do some very interesting therapy for. one of those is hypnosis and meditation. its actually self hypnosis -- which im learning with the hypnotist, but its all the same.
its amazing. its been helping me so much with my recovery.
my uncle used hypnosis to stop smoking - he needed one session (thats not normal).
and a friend of mine used hypnosis for weight loss. the hypnosis just made her think of unhealthy food as gross, and healthy food as good.
13My aunt tried Hypnotherapy to stop eating chocolate. (Why just chocolate, I'm not sure - I think it was becoming an addiction!) She said that after a few sessions she started not liking chocolate anymore. Any time she would eat a piece, she said it was like the chocolate was void of taste. She stopped eating it all together after awhile. She lost about 15 pounds just by doing that!
14I've considered hypnotherapy to lose weight before. It seems interesting.
i wanna try!
15I just bought "The Zen of Thin" CD set...and im hoping hoping HOPING it helps me get over those stupid mental blocks that i give myself to keep me from going to the gym and eating less.
:DRINK: Here's to hoping it works!!! I will make sure to let fitsugar know my results!
I love Lily Allen...btw!
She's a doll.
16Oops....
17Oh...and if you dont know if you are suseptible to being hypnotized...there is a test you can do if you use the "zen of thin" link. I was rated a 5...the most suseptible. YAY!
18I really admired her before. It meant that there were women who looked pretty and were "above" the average celebrity sizes of 0-2.
I think she has maybe employed more than hypnotism to lose weight in such a short space of time..??
19why Lily why?!!
20this is ridiculous. Just exercise and eat right.
21she looks great!
22How do you find a good hypnotist, and someone you can trust?
23this is interesting... i work out with a trainer but i'm struggling with doing cardio on my own.. lol... maybe hypnosis would help! anyway, i saw an acupuncturist to curb my sugar cravings and it was so effective... i would eat chocolates everyday.. 2-4 minis.. and after one session with the acupuncturist, all of a sudden i stopped craving it.. i'd see chocolates at work but didn't want it.. saw people eating it and still didn't feel like i was missing anything. didn't eat any chocolates for 2 months.. now i do eat it sometimes but very rarely..
24I think she looks fabulous!
25I think it's a good thing she went and got hypnosis done to herself. It's not like she needed to get fit (she's already very fit), but it never hurts to work out. And I wouldn't worry about it like some people are saying. If you hypnotize someone nothing can happen to them that's bad.
26i've just watched GLASTONBURY and her body is "drop-dead"gorgeous cat-walk model perfect but no amount of make-up and glitter sparkle around the eyes could hide the lines when the camera went close-in,it's not slimming down you need LILY { from a decent size 12 figure 1!?! ] BUT AS MY "OLE GRANNIE ' would say bot good old fashion rest. take another 3 months off and come back and wham us sexually and musically again LILY.
