Have you always wanted to run, cycle, or walk to help fight or raise awareness about a deadly disease? Not only is it a powerful feeling to cross the finish line, but it makes it even more worthwhile if you know your efforts are going to support a cause. Your accomplishments will give you the sense that you did something more important than just get in good shape.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program will help you get there. They offer training from certified coaches for four to five months, training clinics, your own website for fundraising, lodging and airfare to the event, and they'll connect you with a patient so you know who all your hard work is going to benefit.
In exchange for their training and support, the money you raise will go towards finding cures to help beat blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
To get started, all you have to do is type in your zip code here. You can train with the largest endurance sports training program that's been saving lives for 20 years, and has raised over $700 million. It's a great way to help make a difference.

Team in Training is AWESOME!! I recently completed my first Sprint Distance Triathlon with their help. It was a wonderful experience. It took about 4 months to train (I was not in great shape before I started). By participating in TNT, you can help raise money for a worthy cause and finish an event (marathon, triathlon, etc.) that you never thought you could do in a million years! One of the most inspiring parts of participating, for me, was that there were many leukemia & lymphoma survivors who were competing in the triathlon.
1Team in Training is an AMAZING organization. I'm about to run my first half marathon that they coached me for and I'd never have been able to do it without them. I'm hoping to do another season in the spring and train for a full marathon. If you have ever wanted or dreamed of completed an endurance event, raising money for a great cause, or just getting in better shape- definitely look into TNT in your area.
2a friend of mine did one of these in san fransisco earlier this summer/ late spring... it was a really rewarding experiance for her
3I'm thinking of running a marathon in January, I'll have to check this out!
4My Best friends sister died of Leukemia and she ran this Marathon this past January here in Florida at Disney. She raised $2000 and it was a promise she had made to her sister, because when Lynn found out she had the cancer she ran the marathon twice before she died. I was so proud of her! =)
5After two seasons with the TNT team, I am absolutely convinced that ANYONE can complete a marathon. Yeah, it's not always pretty, it's not always easy, but the TNT program really does a good job of prepping you. It was with this group that I completed my first (and am on my way to #2 and #3) marathon. If you have the time and are willing to stretch yourself out of your comfort zone, sign up! Regardless whether you finish in 2 hours or 12 hours, the run is for a good cause.
6hehehe...I always hear commercials for these guys from Greg the Gay Sportscaster on Energy 92.7.
