I was in Starbucks yesterday and I saw that their 3 new holiday flavors are back. If you're saying to yourself, whoopeeee then you better think again.

These fun holiday beverages not only bring you extra holiday cheer but they also bring you extra calories (and lots of them). Check out the stats on these 16 oz. Grandes.
- Gingerbread Latte with whip has 430 calories, 22 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 43 grams of carbs and 40 grams of sugar.
- Peppermint Mocha has 470 calories, 22 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 61 grams of carbs and 51 grams of sugar.
- Eggnog Latte has 510 calories, 29 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of trans fat, 43 grams of carbs and 39 grams of sugar.
Fit's Tip: If the holidays just aren't the holidays without a festive drink from Starbucks, then you should definitely ask for it with non fat milk and no whip.

I'd love to see someone try and ask for non-fat and no chantilly here in France
1Dairy milk makes me ill, so I have to have it with Soya milk. It doesn't taste as nice though
.
Does that cut down on the fat content?
2I am sure this is worse, but yesterday I went and ordered an decaf grande skim no whip ginger white mocha...mmm...usually get soy milk, which i think tasted great with coffee, but got skim so there was no fat and less calories...still abit much but as a treat it nummy
I'm all in.
3Wow is all I can say. Wow. That's a lot of calories for a coffee drink. Right on Cravin getting the skim and no whip. I'm sticking to herbal tea. I have my one coffee in the morning and then no more. I can't even drink decaf in the afternoon any more.
4I think all of the starbucks drinks taste much better with soy milk.
5I make it a rule to allow myself ONE of these per year, and always get so excited about it - but now that I see those numbers I'm beginning to wonder if even that is worth it. Usually by the time you get to the end of one of those things your taste buds are just registering a sort of vague icky sweetness anyway... maybe it'll be a Starbucks-free Christmas after all.
6I hate Starbucks
7Soy milk does cut the calories by a bit. The cream (or chantilly) is what really gets you as well. So by having soy milk and no cream, you calorie intake will be down with any of those drinks, but still not fabulous
8oh the peppermint mocha is sooo good!! I usually get the Carmel Machiato(sp?) with Soy and i think it tastes better!
9Its called everything in moderation--try one only, and then, have only one more for the month--NOT everyday....common sense
10I can't believe they have trans fat in them!!! Is that in all of their coffees or just the flavoured kind?
11So I sent this post to a couple of my friends here at work - see their responses - I am going to send this out to all my friends & family - it's a health hazard - Thank you so much FIT
we love you
"WHAT! Thank god I’ve just had 1 gingerbread latte so far. This is crazy!"
"That just killed it for me
"
"So much sugar - that's yuck"
12Wow, just wow.
13I remember I used to LOVE peppermint mocha.
Now it's just a no-no.
Okok I have a low resistance level to Starbucks, so I'll just go for the non-fat milk and no whip. :]
Thanks for the heads up! ILY!

14No wonder my butt seemed to have like, swelled up twice it's size! It was exam week, and I was practically living on Peppermint Mochas (doesn't it taste like a Girl Guide cookie with coffee? Yummy!). Got to chock that up on my list of Moderation Foods.
Thankfully, I had enough sense to take it skinny.
I've never been here. Is it really that great of a place? I pass it all the time and I have no clue. But it always looks crowded, and everyone looks in a mad hurry on some days.
15So excited for the Gingerbread latte...it's my fav, but I NEVER order a grande size of anything. Did you know at Starbucks, you can order a 'short' of any drink, even though it's not listed on the menu? Great way to satisfy your craving without all the calories. I also use Soy & ask them to go lighter on the sugared flavoring so it's not so sickly sweet. If you have a barista who can make great foam, you can get away with no whip & still be happy:) Lastly, I love asking for my drink in a real cup & enjoy it at the store with a friend or good book....making it an experience rather than a grab & run increases my enjoyment.
16Soymilk does NOT cut the calories. I work at starbucks. In fact is adds quite a bit to the drink. Per serving the soymilk we use is aprox 230 calories. Skim is 90. Just because its soy doesn't mean its better.
