The latest in relaxation involves a little more work than just laying on a massage table and getting rubbed down.

Thai Yoga Massage (some people call it "Thai Massage" only) is a massage where the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of yoga postures while massaging along the body's pressure points. Ultimately it is a full body massage performed on a floor mat with a practitioner who uses hands, feet, arms, and legs to guide the client into various yoga postures. Why, you ask? Well Thai Yoga Massage has been said to relieve muscular tension, improve circulation, boost the immune system and strengthen flexibility. All while burning a few more calories than a regular massage, I can imagine. Not a yogi? No problem because no previous experience with yoga is needed by the client. I still can't decide if it looks painful or relaxing, but I'm willing to give it a shot.
Right now it is being offered at the Nicolas Christies Day Spa in Massachusetts, but visit ThaiYoga.com for a list of therapists near you.

oh oh oh, i've been craving something like this for months! love being pulled and pushed...
1Has anyone ever tried one? I've always wondered how they felt compared to regular massages.
2Looks awesome!!
3I had a Thai massage in Kyoto, Japan. It. Was. Awesome. Afterwards I felt like someone had reset my body to factory settings. Everything was so relaxed and warm. And then we went hiking for an hour and I was back to where I started, but it was good while it lasted!
4I had one done when my sister was in school to be a massage therapist. It is absolutely THE best massage.
5Oh wow, that looks relaxing to me. Anything with the word "massage" in it sounds great.
6Wow I need something to relieve pressure..I'll be looking this up..
7Thai massages = so very NOT relaxing!
8Thai massage is the ONLY massage to get - its the best! Everytime I get it I fall asleep...
9If you have been to Thailand, this type of massage is different than the ones they offer there. The Thai yoga massage involves more stretching. The Thai-style massage does do stretches but it is much more focused on pressure points and I felt way more relaxed than the yoga massage.
10if anyone in the LA area is interested, I've been to a great Thai massage called Thai Sabai. They have two locations, one in Hollywood and the other in Westwood. The massage is great with lots of stretching and the price can't be beat ($45 for 1 hour!) I've been taking all of my friends and family there and they all love it.
11Just what I need.
