Celebrities love their Starbucks and, being FitSugar, I am a bit obsessed with how liquid calories often go unnoticed in our daily calorie intake. So, when it comes the the stars, I am always amazed at who's drinking what these days.

In light of this, I've taken a look at some of our favorite celebs drinking some of our favorite beverages and I've broken down who's making healthy choices and who's not. (One star is the worst choice, three stars is the best choice.)
| Star | Starbucks Beverage | Calories | Star Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Britney Spears | Vanilla Bean Frappuccino (w/ caramel) | 390 | 1/2 Star |
| Ashton Kutcher | Iced Soy Latte | 85 | Two Stars |
| Sophia Bush | Tazo Green Shaken Iced Tea | 60 | Three Stars |
| Ben Affleck | Tazo Passion Shaken Iced Tea | 60 | Three Stars |
| Lindsay Lohan | Iced Lemonade | 162 | One Star |
| Jennifer Garner | Iced Coffee (black) | 60 | Three Stars |
All calculations are based on a tall or 12-ounce drink.

Oo, passion ice tea is my favorite! Another reason to love Ben.
1I thought I was doing good getting a venti soy chai. Anyone know what kind of damage that's doing in regards to calories??
2I so agree with you. I seriously believe that some of these celebs think that they can just fill up on liquid calories and don't need any other nutrients/whole foods.
I posted about this in my blog a while ago about how if you eat a "low cal" diet that's not nutritious, you still put yourself at risk for abdominal obesity - even more so than someone who eats more calories but makes better nutritious choices.
Read about it here: http://inshapewoman.blog.com/1871526/
3Amanda - that's 290 calories. Quite a lot for one drink. http://www.starbucks.com/retail/nutrition_beverage_detail.asp
Starbucks has all their nutrition content online and you can select everything that you add to the drink to get the full count.
If you like the tea - just get it without being a latte (i.e. without milk). Or if you just like something hot and caffeinated try the coffee of the day or a cafe au lait (half coffee/half milk) A tall soy cafe au lait is only 70 calories.
4small NSA drinks at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf forever - Starbucks is evil
5i love frapps but i haven't had one in months!! lol
"Tazo Green Shaken Iced Tea"
6aah my comment got cut off.
Anyways i originally typed
"Tazo Green Shaken Iced Tea" - i dont think i've ever tired that
7Wait, does the coffee have sugar in it or something? I only ask because I was always under the impression that a cup of coffee with nothing in it was about 5 calories.
8I get one of two drinks, depending on what else I've eaten or plan to eat. Since I'm loosing weight, I try to make sure I'm able to work off those calories on the days I've decided to splurge:
Grande, two pumps raspberry, no melon, Soy, Green Tea Latte.
Grande, two pumps raspberry, no melon, Great Tea Frappucino Lite.
They both have calories that I don't need, but only the Latte has fat. I wish they would cary low-fat or fat free soy milk at coffee shops. That would help a great deal.
9tls girl, I was just going to say the same thing! I'm confused too!
Unless I am getting a hot tea or a black coffee, I always treat Starbucks as a special treat. I know it has a ton of calories.
1060 calories, wow! If people want some starbucks than the calories are worth it. Not everyone wants to drink water and diet soda all day everyday.
11Coffee itself is only around 5 calories for about 8 ounces.
But, with lattes it's not coffee - it's espresso with 3/4 of the cup filled with hot milk. And then if you add a flavor shot (like caramel) you also get added calories.
Now with the iced coffee, it's not just coffee - it's a concentrate with sugar and other things added so that's why the iced coffee has added calories.
If you frequent coffee shops (no matter which one) I'd suggest going on starbucks' site and checking the nutritional content of what you're ordering (it will be a round about figure). I used to alway get the white mochas, but when I found out a grande with whip had almost 500 calories, I quickly changed my mind.
One side note - starbucks whipped cream has about 120 calories per fappuccino! 120!!! It's because they use real whipping cream and then add vanilla syrup to it. So if you do treat yourself to starbucks - make sure to say "no whip"
12Wow I like the frappuccinos but have not had one in awhile...
13Syako: Thanks for letting me know! Yikes, I really thought getting it with Soy would cut the calories but seriously that's too much.
14interesting, thanks for positng this, fitsugar. i always wonder what's in most of my favorite coffee drinks.
for those of you who want a starbucks treat with about 120 cals (it's on the starbucks website) get the caramel light frap with sugar-free caramel syrup and no whip!
15Starbucks isn't bad if you get a normal drink with no whipped cream. I have Starbucks for lunch almost everyday and it's actually helped me to lose weight. Must be the caffeine. So Starbucks won't make you fat. Calm down people!
16The lite frapps really make a difference, and I don't think you loose anything in taste. They don't even come with whip, so no worries in remembering to ask for no whip! Just my opinion.
17How is it that a shaken unsweetened iced tea has 60 calories? In my experience, the baristas will ask me if I want the iced teas sweetened or not, so that leads me to assume that there's nothing but tea (which naturally should not have calories) in the pitchers they're pouring out of. Not true?
18Helpful little chart. Some of those drinks look yummy, like the iced tea.
19you CAN get an unsweetend iced coffe and add splenda or a sugar free pump of whatever flavor you want. I usually get an unsweetened iced coffe with a splash of soymil or nonfat mil and add 1/2 a splenda yummmmm. I dont know how anyone can think a grande frap with whip isnt bad for you? HELLO! just look at it!
20has anybody tried their lemonade?
21is it pretty good?
what about that tea?
we're FINALLY getting a starbucks in my town!
wow thanks I've always wanted to know what the stars get! I always get a tall iced coffee with no fat milk and that's about 75 calories. But now I have new choices to ask for! thank you
22I love starbucks. I try and not worry about how many calories I am taking in because I usually only do starbucks when I am ready to treat myself. I love the mocha frap with with cream and syrup. Glad to know that I can treat my self more often because now I know some healthier choices to pick from.
23I guess I'm boring and/or cheap. Anytime I go to Starbucks, I get a plain ol' coffee and put a little skim milk and Splenda in it. I know, I know...BO-RING. But at least it doesn't have a lot of calories. Maybe 20 at the most.
24I was going to get on my Splenda/sugar free soapbox, but nevermind. People tend to roll their eyes and space out when I do.
25Alillee- I like to get a tall green tea lemonade or passion tea lemonade-I ask for it half sweet or quarter-sweet. Yum!
LoneWolf-I hear ya re: Splenda, aspartame etc-nasty! I like stevia,(obvs!)and agave nectar for non-sugar sweeteners.
26i sure am glad i read this! I had NO idea starbucks black iced tea had calories in it. Isnt that a little deceiving? Iced tea should not be sweetened unless requested! The main reason i love iced tea is that its calorie free and has caffine. Ugh.
For those that like frappacinnos, if i ever get one i get the "lite." It still has alot of calories though.
27shall try the tazo drink later!
28I'm into Coffee Jelly Frappuccino.
I'll try Tazo.
29I'm into Coffee Jelly Frappuccino.
I'll try Tazo.
30I think this chart is wrong. This is the only picture I've ever seen of Ben carrying anything other than a venti iced coffee. I think it's for Jen, the tazo thingy. Seriously.
31Tazo Passion Shaken Iced Tea... ohhh yes i luv it!
32I work @ Starbucks. We provide FAT FREE, 2 % or Whole Milk, Soy and Organic. All of them can be an option. We have sugar free syrups, iced coffees, and even a sugar free vanilla iced coffee with fat free milk, is fat free people!
its not all bad...just dont add whip cream. it adds 15 grams of fat to drinks
33At Starbucks all you have to do is ask for fat free or low fat. I get a Chai latte with skim milk. It's not as good as the full fat, but it's still creamy and yummy, and much less fat. Any drink from starbucks can be low fat or low sugar, you just have to ask for it.
34Grande Skim Latte with Sugar Free Cinnamon Dulce Syrup!!! It is a wonderful snack and helps me get my calcium too
35i like it all. thats my problem
36my favorite is starbucks' green tea frappuccinno 'grande'. five stars. LOL
37Starbucks issss evil! lol
38So many calories consumed for one cup! Make it worth it folks
I'm a Tazo Orange Passion Iced Tea lover myself. I have tried the Double Chocolate Frap and hate the cream so I have no problem taking that out.
39This is making me want Starbucks before work now. lol.
I always get a venti black iced team. It's only $2.25 with tax and I get them at least 2 times a week.
40I always stick to the Iced Green tea or Iced Coffee. Still tasty, but not sipping down all my calories for the day. I also agree that the Lite Frapps are much healthier than the original.
41I love Starbucks. Unfortunately it does not fit into my new "plan" so I will be giving it up. I had my last daily frappuccino this morning. I will be treating myself once a month, there's no use in completely punishing myself, lol.
