I'm sorry to tell you this gang, but there is really no special diet to get rid of cellulite! The term "cellulite" was a marketing term developed in 1973 to refer to the dimpled (cottage cheese like) appearance of the skin that some people have on their hips, thighs, and buttocks.

Cellulite occurs in 50-90% of women, regardless of clothing size or how skinny they are. So if you have it, you're in the majority. It is like red hair or freckles... cellulite is just one of those things that differentiates us from one another.
This clumpy fat appearance results from the unique way that fat, muscle, and connective tissue are distributed in our skin. Cellulite is more visible in women because we have thinner skin and because we store more fat in our hips and thighs (damn childbearing!). Female hormones may play a role in contributing to this fat distribution of fat cells as well.

Since cellulite is just ordinary body fat, there is no magical diet trick that will get rid of it (or melt it away as most creams suggest). The bottom line? A healthy diet (calorie controlled) plus exercise helps you lose fat throughout your body and therefore could help to reduce cellulite. Although it won't make it go away, increasing muscle tone on the back of the legs can help to diminish the appearance of the cellulite dimples.
Fit's Tip: Message techniques, dietary supplements, creams and lipo have not yet been proven to reduce cellulite-- since these things are all relatively expensive I would recommend saving your money until something is proven.

Bummer!
1yet another reason why it can sometimes stink to be a woman.
2cellulite sucks! ( I can't remember how to do the spitting smiley....)
3great tips!
Spitting Smiley? We gotta find it. I'm in the mood to spit.
4I just blame my mom.....
5ewwww on doctor 90210 I was watching this plastuc surgeon doing this new procedure to get rid of cellulite. He takes this instrument that they basically stab your leg with (not quite but they might as well) and the instrument breaks the bands that create the dimpling. So gross to watch
but yeah some of my skinniest friends have cellulite. I just think that when you are bigger you are more aware of it
6DesignR, I want a Richard Simmons one too.
I thought vigerous tissue massage breaks up the connective tissue. Fitsugar tips great tips!! Thanks fitsugar.
7I'm not overweight and I have cellulite on the back of my upper legs. Ew, sorry for the visual. LOL! I guess I have to embrace the cheese!
8i'm not overweight but I have it, always have. And then I have a friend who is not skinny, and actually always has been chubby, and she has NEVER had cellulite. She may have some fat, but not one dimple. I just don't understand it! Its not fair!
9good to hear that its just one of those things... and there is nothing any of us are doing wrong, some people have it and some dont.
10Nini- Thats interesting that you mentioned that because Im actually jealous of those girls that are bigger but are completely smooth. Like did anybody see that episode of Grey were Kali is dancing in her undies and she is just smooth= me jealous
11thats an ugly ass
12eww dimples.
13I've had pocket of that crap on the sides of my legs (lower love handles I call them, I guess they're saddle bags). Since before I got my period. Genetics!!!! I did see the cottage cheese some of the models on Project Runway and it did make me feel better about my extra cheese.
14I'm thin and I have a little on the back of my thighs. And I workout. SO I also blame mom
15Ill just get it sucked out thanks
16Goodness! Cellulite is one of my biggest fears! I would think that exercise and eating right would prevent it, I guess not
17i know this isnt a proven fact but i also no fit sugars done a blog on this method before, i find that ALWAYS NO MATTER WHAT a detox gets rid of any tiny bit of cellulite i have
every 3 months (4 times a year) i do a detox (mastercleanse or the lemon diet) For ten days i drink nothing but lemon juice, caynne pepper and maple syrup. by day five the tiny bit of cellulite i build up in the three months previous to my last detow is complelty gone.
one theroy is this works because cellulite isnt caused by genetic determining of the shape of our cells (criss cross cells)but by toxins trapped in the dead fatty tissue( cells) which cause the apperence of the fat cells to become wrinkeled. hense why you get it where all the dead fatty tissue sits. guys have more muscle mass which is why there not so prone to it.
when i did my first detox i had heaps of cellulite and tryed everything to get rid of it, i was amazed when by day three it was almost all gone. not only does the detox get rid of cellulite but it makes your skin clearer and feel so soft and the bonus being you lose up to 3-5 kg in body waste thats trapped in your body that you never gain back , cleaning out all the waste your body cant process or flush out also stops the effects of any harmful deiseases ect.. forming in your intenstines (kate moss is a favorite of colon cleansing, this has a simular effect but a fraction of the cost)
i know it sounds mad but i feel fantastic from doing it over the last two years, i dont struggle with the wee belly ring of fat i used to get all the time from over eating that week as it all seems to go straight in and out, i havnt been sick since , i even avoided the flu my entire office had. definitly a must try!!
18thanks BEXCBOO I 'll try it
19cellulite is beautiful!!!!!
20Creams do work to a certain extent. I used Clarins Stubborn Cellulite cream and it visibly reduced the appearance of my cellulite. Expect to pay around $65 a month because you will go through a tube each month to cover your butt and thighs.
When you apply it you can feel that it is cool and it tightens right away. You can actually feel it tightening the skin. If you can fork over the cash, try it.
